Schedule Planner is live! RCC’s Schedule Planner allows students to quickly create conflict free schedules based on our current class offerings. Students select classes, put in times they are not available and the Schedule Planner gives them multiple options of schedules that meet their needs. Chelsea Merine, originally from Chestnut Ridge, is an RCC alumna completing her degree in Radiation Therapy at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY. Chelsea and her twin sister decided to attend RCC in 2015. After high school, I wasn’t ready to attend a four year college. I knew I didn’t have the necessary skills to succeed, said Chelsea. RCC allowed me to develop these skills and more. I took public speaking classes, met new people, and learned how to properly work in a group. ...While at RCC, Chelsea majored in Social Science & Humanities, was a member of the Hip Hop Dance Crew, and participated in the Habitat for Humanity trip to New Orleans where she helped to build houses. The experience was transformative and life changing! I am grateful to RCC for giving me an experience that I wouldn’t have been able to have on my own. Chelsea graduated from RCC and transferred to Binghamton University to study psychology. She is completing her degree at SUNY Upstate. When I was in the RCC Honors Program, I interned at the Montefiore Nyack Cancer Center, and discovered what I wanted to do with my life. Chelsea is grateful for her time at RCC and hopes other high school seniors will consider it as their first option. Attending RCC was the best decision I could have made for myself financially and academically.
