We haven't posted a go problem in a while, so here's one rated as 6k in difficulty at Blacktoplay.com (yes, it's black to play).

It's been one month shy of ten years since our club hosted a weekend workshop with Guo Juan 5p here in Syracuse. What a delight that was! We were able to have the workshop in the gallery of the Delavan Center, a gorgeous space suffused with light. There were sixteen of us in all, divided up into two groups. Each of us would get to play two games against others in our group on both days, with Guo Juan meeting with our group to review each of our games. It was a wonderful experience we won't forget, and we'd love to bring Guo Juan back to do it again.

Our club moved its Wednesday night meetings online back in March as COVID began to pick up in New York, and each week several of us show up to play on OGS. I imagine we won't be returning to play face to face games at Wegmans for a while longer, but we'd love to have any go enthusiasts from the Central New York area join us for some games or just stop by and say hello. We meet on OGS in the Syracuse Go Club group every Wednesday night beginning at 7:00 PM.

Our tournament next Saturday has been canceled, but here's a memory from eight years ago. Milton Sack, who died two years ago at age 101, is standing at the right of the picture.

The Syracuse Go Club has stopped meeting at Wegmans until further notice because of the coronavirus. We'll be gathering on OGS instead on Wednesday evenings.

Our Salt City Tournament, scheduled for April 18, is canceled.

This article appeared in the Syracuse Post-Standard five years ago today. The club hasn't changed much since then, except that we've moved our meeting night to Wednesdays and Renan has moved back home to Brazil.

Here's a reminder that our annual four-round Salt City Tournament will take place on Saturday, April 18. If you've never come to this tournament before, we'd love to have you join us! We'll have players ranging from 30k to dan-level and a new go book or cash prize for every player.
