We’re updating some of the heat registers at one of our ecologically minded Victorian houses with an antique heat register we found off of eBay and some locally sourced large lumber.

Our peach, cherry and apple trees are blooming at our ecologically minded rental properties! The cherries will be ripe in late June, and the peaches will be ripe in late August and early September when our new tenants will be moving in and college will be swinging back into session.
We have the best tenants! I just wanted to say that. Our tenants are so thoughtful, sweet, good-natured and good to their roommates. Every year people surprise me how kind they are and I feel so blessed to have all of them!

Some of the fruit, berries, herbs, vegetables, flowers, perennials, shrubs and trees that our company and our tenants have planted at our wild looking community garden and permaculture garden at 109 Judson St., Syracuse, NY. I just took these pictures today. The fruit trees will have a small crop this year due to a late snow and cold spell that killed the flowers in the spring. There are a few Asian pears and European pears this year, none of our Contender peach trees at any... of our properties have peaches this year although they have had plenty every other year. The apple trees are mostly bare, but we did have a bumper crop of tasty apples last year. All of our gooseberry, red currant and black currant bushes had healthy crops this year, and they usually produce heavily each season in Central New York despite the deeply cold winters and heavy snows. I find them to be a lot more productive and easier to maintain than raspberries and blueberries. Nature grows and produces in cycles, and it's been wonderful watching these plants grow and become productive over the last ten years or more. Our community garden space is open to everybody, whether you are a tenant or not.

We have multiple rooms and apartments available for this summer and the upcoming college rental year with free roommate matching. Give us a call, email or text. Have a wonderful day!
We have a lot of wonderful new tenants that have signed up for our ecologically minded housing for the upcoming school year. This past month has been really busy showing apartments, answering peoples' questions about housing and keeping up with emails and phone calls. We try to place people with roommates that have similar interests, lifestyle preferences and academic pursuits. Often the people we have as roommates end up becoming lifelong friends. I can say that my experie...nce from attending the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and having roommates has left me years later with some great people to go hiking with, grab some dinner or call when we need a listening ear. We cannot guarantee that every roommate will end up being a lifelong friend, but there's a good chance that the extra effort we put into placing people together will make some positive connections. :-)
We have several spacious, Eco-friendly apartments for rent beginning this summer, with most beginning August 1, 2016 with one year leases ending July 31, 2017, and rooms available beginning this month of May and in June. This rental year has started off wonderfully with all of our apartments being rented, aside from one room that is available for a superclean, considerate and fragrance free individual. We also have a new family member to add to our small, green family business, and little Tallulah will arrive here in March as a first child. She should be here in time to help me show off the apartments to new potential renters and prep the gardens and homes for the summer. This has been a bus...y few weeks, I've been getting the apartments and houses ready for the winter. There's lots of little things to consider when you own old houses. Our organic permaculture gardens were bountiful this summer! The fruit trees and berry bushes were laden with apples, peaches, Asian pears, cherries, gooseberries, red currants, black currants and there were some vegetables growing here and there. I just finished putting organic fertilizer on all of the fruit trees and berry bushes this fall. Now that our front yards and sidewalks are packed with branches and limbs offering tasty delights to passersby, it is time to start planting food producing life in the backyards. I am just immensely grateful that we have had incredible tenants year after year at our ecologically minded apartments. They are the most positive, happy, environmentally conscious individuals that anyone could be blessed to have as tenants/friends. I keep wishing that there was a word to describe a tenant who becomes a friend, because that is what usually happens. I just don't feel the term "tenant" quite covers how awesome people are. Occasionally someone is stressed out from life or school, and that is to be expected, but for the most part we have wonderful people that live in our homes and add more life and character to these beautiful old houses. Hopefully this will be a positive winter for everyone, with the spring bringing new possibilities and life budding as the days lengthen. Safe journeys and best wishes to all of you!
We still have a few rooms available for August 1 rental, 2015 to July 31, 2016. We have wonderful tenants already placed in the apartments, they are seeking some nice, happy roommates to live with.
Our apartments are free of monsters, but we do allow one sasquatch and twelve unicorns per lease signing. http://happyplace.someecards.com//terrifying-maintenance-/
This is a small and effective on the ground organization that's been able to help deliver food and goods to some of the most remote regions of Nepal before other NGO's or government agencies have been able to.
