Huge thanks to all of the makers who inspired us, gave us tours of their spaces, demoed their projects, taught us new skills, and invited us into their communit...ies. We would additionally like to thank all of our volunteers who have helped moderate all of our sessions, our host organizations for their continued support, our friends at Maker Faire and Make: Magazine who have gone above and beyond in supporting the Empire State Maker Faire, and everyone who was able to join us in celebrating makers from all over New York State and beyond. The Empire State Maker Faire would not be possible without the tireless efforts of the Empire State Maker Faire team, including the producers behind Maker Faire Rochester, Maker Faire Long Island, Buffalo Mini Maker Faire Fredonia Mini Maker Faire, Maker Faire Twin Tiers, Maker Faire Syracuse, and World Maker Faire in conjunction with Make: Community. Empire State Maker Faire this weekend!

We're 1 week away from the Empire State Maker Faire! Next Friday (10/16) is geared toward students and educators, whether they are learning in-person, remotely, or homeschooled. You won’t want to miss Mario the Maker Magician, Friday’s keynote speaker! Students will love learning how to recycle electronic waste into jewelry, create an animated hero, and discover some cool new twists on rollercoasters made with paper, robotics, and more! Parents and teachers will appreciate workshops on incorporating STEM/STEAM into your own curriculum. And everyone will enjoy the Five Minute Lightning Talks featuring a wide variety of Makers inspiring creativity for all ages! Do you Love to Make! Passion for S.T.E.A.M.? The Empire State Maker Faire’s Call for Makers is officially open! Our deadline is Sept 20th. You can apply to give tours or your spaces, demo projects that you’ve worked on, teach workshops on a skill that you want to share, share a performance, host a panel with your fellow makers, or showcase your project in our online exhibit hall. We're excited to announce that we are joining forces with the producers of Maker Faire Long Island, Buffalo Mini Maker Faire, Fredonia Mini Maker Faire, Twin Tiers Mini Maker Faire, Maker Faire Rochester, and World Maker Faire New York in conjunction with Make: Magazine (https://make.co/ ), to produce the Empire State Maker Faire, an online event, on October 16 and 17, 2020. This statewide showcase, organized by local producers throughout New York State, will share the creat...ive work and technical know-how of all kinds of makers who share a passion for making. The event features demonstrations, performances, and how-to workshops everything from robotics to woodworking to flaming art. Empire State Maker Faire is free and open to the public.
