Happy Thursday, my wonderful friends! I thought it would be fun to create a list of what I need for Santa this year. Here goes: Dear Santa, below is my list of what I need to have less stress: ~Time for myself (I have had meetings EVERY single night of the week for the last two or three weeks). ~A way to celebrate each other right now when we are not able to celebrate together. Everyone has been working so hard and since March just keeping up with all the information h...as been overwhelming. ~A way to make everyone feel connected and supported during these challenging times. ~Peace on earth Sincerely, STC See more

It's Wednesday so smile! It's going to be a great day, I just know it! Today's challenge is to plan for and/or make a batch of cookies. So make that list, start the shopping, or order a batch of holiday cookies. This year, I will be playing it safe so I won't be baking cookies with my extended family. However, I will be ordering some cookies and cannolis through my favorite bakery. I would love to hear what your favorite seasonal cookies are and if you are willing, please feel free to share your favorite cookie recipe here for others to participate in the fun.

Have you noticed the daily teacher challenges that I have been posting lately? Here's why I have added these: Educators are ranked among the most traumatized professionals who work outside the hospital setting. These daily challenges are to support you in your own ability to promote self-care and resilience as a professional during these challenging times. I hope that you enjoy these little posts and check in to see what is shared daily. Take good care of yourselves and be well, my friends.

According to several studies and reports, teaching is one of the most stressful jobs in the country. The American Federation of Teachers’ 2017 Educator Quality of Work Life Survey found that 61 percent of teachers said their jobs were always or often stressfulmore than double the rate of non-teaching working adultsand 58 percent said they had poor mental health due to stress levels. That was before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and since then, the transition to online learnin...g, debates over reopening, and individual safety concerns are making teachers’ mental health worse. If you’re feeling tired and disengaged, there’s a good chance it’s related to trauma, secondary traumatic stress, and/or battle fatigue. Teachers are often focused on taking care of and supporting others, but without prioritizing your wellbeing, those stress levels won’t lift. Your mental health isn’t only important to youteacher wellness is also linked to stability in schools and student achievement. https://mhanational.org//3%20FACT%20SHEET%20Teachers%20-%2
