Our DPW crews have been working hard all week. Earlier this week it was a water main break on Broadway that caused crews to work until past 1am. Then it was a marathon event Wednesday evening into Thursday Afternoon with snow clearing. Today (12.18) it was a fire in one of our trucks! They just can't catch a break. You'll see them continue working hard throughout the weekend. You may have noticed the commotion at Highland & Gunpowder this afternoon. Luckily everyone was ok. Big thanks to Tarrytown Fire for showing up quickly to the scene to assist with the fire; and to TPD for traffic assistance. Unfortunately, we think truck H2 is a goner. Some pictures are included below.

On Saturday, December, 5, 2020, at approximately 5:30 pm, the Tarrytown Police Department received numerous 911 calls reporting a pedestrian laying in vehicular traffic in the middle of Route 9. Upon the arrival of Patrol units, it was determined the pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle, which failed to stop and continued traveling northbound. Responding Tarrytown units rendered aid to the victim and gathered crucial information, provided to them by witnesses of thi...s incident. All information was forwarded to members of the Tarrytown Detective Division, who worked on tracking down this vehicle and its operator. Often times the public is unaware of the amount of investigative work going on behind the scene which can’t be shared as it may jeopardize the investigation. The Department is pleased to announce that all the work contributed to this case has paid off and an arrest has been made. We wish the victim a speedy recovery. On Friday, December, 11, 2020, a 63-year-old Ossining woman was arrested and charged with New York State VTL 600-2AA, leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident-1ST, a class A misdemeanor. The woman was issued multiple summonses, returnable to Tarrytown Criminal Court.

Tarrytown PD/COC 2020 Toy Drive

Tarrytown Police Department 25.11.2020

Today the Village of Tarrytown Police Department completed their 14th annual toy drive. The Department delivered hundreds of toys, stuffed animals and games donated by YOU, the community, to the Tarrytown Community Opportunity Center and the local Salvation Army. In 2020, year of COVID-19, this was likely one of the most important toy drives the Village could have participated. We thank the community for their continued generosity in giving to this program, even during these difficult times. 1st Photo: (Pictured left to right): Lt. Budnar, Chief Barbelet, Lt.
