Therapy is for everyone. Seriously. If you're a human being, you experience stress. From childhood trauma to an annoying coworker: you need to talk out your frustrations and feelings. That's where we come in.... There are many forms of therapy, each one designed for the different issues humans face. We can be a guiding teacher, a shoulder to cry on, or a friend you just want to vent to. There are so many benefits of talking to someone that's not in your every day life. An outsider's perspective can be so valuable. Are you ready to experience all that therapy has to offer? . . . . #loveyourself #selflovefirst #selflove #selfcare #selfworth #selfawareness #selfreflection #bekind #bekindtoyourself #benefitsoftherapy #therapybenefits #therapyisforeveryone #therapylove #mindfulness #mentalhealth #newyorkcity #nycmentalhealth #telehealth #selfesteem #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness

Breathing is something we do subconsciously to help us stay alive. Did you know that you can use your breath to calm your nervous system which can leave you feeling more at peace and less anxious? Use the steps below for a calming breathing session.... 1 Get your favorite calming essential oil (lavender, spearmint, and eucalyptus are our favorites!), rub it in your hands and take a nice deep breath into your hands. 2 Breathe in for 4 counts 3 Hold your breath for 7 counts 4 Breathe out for 8 counts 5 Repeat as needed Do you have a favorite breathing technique? Join Raydale for a Love and Kindness Guided Meditation Meditation is a wonderful way to center and ground yourself. There are many different ways to meditate. The three below are our favorites! Be intentional with your thoughts, like the one we're doing today, speaking specific phrases.... Work to clear your mind by focusing solely on deep inhales and exhales. Let your stream of consciousness float through your mind. Don't focus in on any one thought. Acknowledge the thought and then let it pass. Pro tip: set a timer for 5 or 10 minutes so you can remain completely focused on your meditation! What style of meditation is your favorite? . . . . #meditation #intentionalthinking #intentionalbreathing #deepbreathing #deepbreaths #pyschotherapy #newyorktherapist #nyctherapy #nycpsychotherapy #copingskills #copingmechanisms #cognitivebehavioraltherapy #anxiety #depression #selfreflection #loveyourself #selflovefirst #selflove #selfcare #selfawareness #mindfulness #mentalhealth #newyorkcity #nycmentalhealth #telehealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness

This week we're focusing on coping activities. First up: Journaling Journaling can be very soothing and calming. If you've never tried it, we welcome you to get a piece of paper or open your notes app on your phone and just start writing whatever is on your mind!... There are so many benefits of journaling including keeping your thoughts straight, sorting through difficult thoughts or emotions, setting and achieving goals, self-reflection, and even inspiring creativity. Writer's block? Here are a few prompts to get you started: What would you do if you knew you could not fail? What is going well in your life right now? Write an entire list of what you are worried about. When I look in the mirror, what do I see? Describe in detail what you want your life to look like in 5 years. Have you ever tried journaling? . . . . #journaling #journalyourfeelings #journal #pyschotherapy #newyorktherapist #nyctherapy #nycpsychotherapy #copingskills #copingmechanisms #cognitivebehavioraltherapy #anxiety #depression #selfreflection #normalizeanxiety #loveyourself #selflovefirst #selflove #selfcare #selfawareness #mindfulness #mentalhealth #newyorkcity #nycmentalhealth #telehealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness

Our friends at Accountable are dropping some self-care knowledge "Self-care is so important for everybody, but for people in recovery, self-care can literally be the difference between life and death. The pandemic has thrown us all out of our normal routines which means we need to consciously recalibrate what self-care means in this environment." AJ Diaz, LMSW CASAC-T discussed his experience and his need to go at a sustainable pace through life in order to stay balanced... in their latest blog post. Check it out on their website! What is one thing you do to stay balanced? . . . . #wedorecover #youareaccountable #accountability #addictionrecovery #sobriety #sober #substanceusedisorder #substanceuse #alcoholaddiction #drugaddiction #selfcare #worklifebalance #balancedlife #mentalhealth #therapy #therapist #nyctherapist #nyctherapy #newyorkcity #newyorktherapist #psychotherapy #nycpsychotherapy #telehealth

5 Ways to Support Someone in Recovery Show up - Let them know you want to be there for them, then do it. Support Positive Choices - Did they start running? Bonus: Have you thought about running, but keep putting it off? Join them! At least be their cheerleader in whatever the choice is.... Encourage Support Groups - Research confirms thse groups to be effective. If people aren’t ready to abstain - there are harm-reduction groups out there as well! Celebrate Milestones! - Have they gone 1 week without using? Have they attended their first support group meeting? These things aren’t easy - acknowledge it! Don’t Take it Personal - Did they relapse despite your stellar support? That is a normal part of recovery and not a reflection on you. Keep going, keep supporting! . . . . #addictionsupport #addictsupport #recoverysupport #addictionrecovery #sobriety #sober #substanceusedisorder #substanceuse #alcoholaddiction #drugaddiction #selfcare #worklifebalance #balancedlife #mentalhealth #therapy #therapist #nyctherapist #nyctherapy #newyorkcity #newyorktherapist #psychotherapy #nycpsychotherapy #telehealth
