At 05:34 hours, Taunton Engine 6 was activated for another possible house fire in the Solvay Fire district. Initial caller reported that the house was on fire and that there were people trapped inside. Moving with a purpose! It’s important to treat each drill/call/scenario as if it’s the real thing and to not become complacent nor lazy. Our members pride themselves in safely hustling at whatever task must be completed. This AFA (automatic fire alarm) was nothing more than burnt food, but the crew moved with a purpose with the idea that time is always of the essence. When it’s your emergency it’s always OUR emergency too.
| 1-16-2021 | Past Chief David M. Bosco laid to rest | Yesterday morning, the Taunton Chiefs, Officers, and Firefighters paid their last respects to Past Chief David M. Bosco. Chief Bosco has and always will be a big part of the Taunton Fire Department as he had worked very closely with our men and women over the years. Taunton members stood watch and gave Chief Bosco one final salute as he passed through the village of Solvay where he lived, worked, and spent his time as every rank from Firefighter to Chief of Fire. To the family, friends, and close associates of Chief Bosco, as well as the Solvay Fire Department, we at the Taunton Fire Department send you our deepest condolences.

Great training this morning! Thanks to Fairmount Fire Department for the training opportunity
As you may know, our duty crew had their breakfast bought for them on Wednesday. Today, we had to give a (socially distanced) in-person thank you. We, at the Taunton Fire Department, appreciate your kind gesture and hope you enjoy your new Taunton t-shirt and other TFD goodies. We also hope you enjoyed the tour of our Engine Thank you again Max!
A VERY big Thank you to the young man that bought our crew breakfast this morning! Max happened to be eating at the same diner as our crew, and very generously paid for their bill out of the money he had made mowing lawns.
The Taunton Fire Department and the Fairmount Fire Department are overjoyed to announce that, together, we raised $1600 for the Helping Hounds Dog Rescue! We could not have done this without the immense support from our local communities. Thank you all for your donations at our bottles and cans drive.
