Now that finals are done, here's to a happy and safe holiday season - and a spring semester with outdoor sports! ICYMI, the NJCAA has ruled that 2020-21 won't count as a year of eligibility, so no student-athlete has to worry about losing any opportunities. Just the opposite - in terms of your years of college eligibility, this spring will be free. Contact us for more information about how to get on the field this spring and play for the Panthers without losing one of your years! https://bit.ly/2JawqIR
Changes to our men's soccer program: As we wish Coach Patrick Arancio the best of luck as he moves to Wells College Athletics, Panthers men's soccer is in great hands as Mick McDaniel will take over the program. McDaniel is already one of the winningest soccer coaches in Region 3 history with a combined 150 wins between men's and women's teams at Tompkins Cortland. He's returning to the lead the men's varsity program that he founded in 1995 and built from the ground up to a ...nationally ranked program before moving over and resurrecting the women's program, turning it into a powerhouse. In these most uncertain of times, we can be very certain that we have the right man for the job. Full story: https://tcpanthers.com//ms/2020-21/releases/20201218o04nv7
Today would have been the College's annual December Graduates Recognition Ceremony. Like so many things this year, it took a different look with a virtual ceremony, but we'd still like to pass along our congratulations to everyone in the Class of December 20202, especially those student-athletes that are finishing up their degrees this semester: Emily Aloi (softball), Malicoumba Diouf (men's basketball), Natasha Feocco (volleyball), Moe Ler (men's soccer), Andrew McDaniel (men's cross country), Christie Sexton (women's soccer), and Samantha Whitehead (volleyball). You make us proud! #Panthers4Life
After careful thought, consideration, and dialogue, SUNY Community Colleges (27 of 30) that are members of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), have collectively decided to cancel intercollegiate competition for the 2020-21 indoor sports that are considered "high risk" for COVID-19 exposure and spread of infection. For Tompkins Cortland Community College, that means the cancellation of the basketball and volleyball seasons for this academic year. Campuses will have the option to hold on-campus workouts and training with student-athletes, which Tompkins Cortland plans to allow in a structured and monitored environment. The College still plans to have baseball, golf, lacrosse, soccer, and softball seasons during the Spring 2021 semester. Full story: bit.ly/39OTW9b

In a year when victories can be counted in many different ways, the Panthers Cross Country team scored perhaps the most significant victory of them all - starting and finishing each race. Tompkins Cortland Community College was one of just two schools to accomplishment that feat, and for that the entire cross country team earns the title of Panthers Athlete of the Week. http://tcpanthers.com/aotw/XC_Panthers
A season like no other came to a close Saturday as the Panthers cross country team took part in the Region 3 championship. The team finished in 4th place, with Elliott Holland (Watkins Glen H.S.) leading the way. A great season in many ways, including being one of just two teams in the entire region to bring a full team to every meet. Fantastic work Panthers! Meet recap | bit.ly/3eizXzN
