Out first on the track though was the Yasses Trucking and Construction Street Stocks. Ron "I'm getting married soon so pray for me" Mogavero started on the pole for the feature in his 75 car. It would the outside pole #54 or Don Newton though that would lead every lap and take home his second feature win on the year. For those of you lucky enough to watch Ron and Don race each other in the past, tonight was no different. Nose to tail, side by side, these two put on a heck of ...a show....again. Add to that the 7 of Richie Mogavero and the 34 of Byron Dewitt, and there was some serious racing going on up front. Speaking of serious, Don dedicated this race to his son Trey who just had brain surgery. There will be a benefit for Trey on June 30th. Following Don to the line was the #75 of Ron Mogavero in second. Byron Dewitt in the 34, was just a close third, just beating out the #7 of Richie Mogavero. Last but not least was the Yasses Trucking and Construction Street Stock. Don Newton started on the pole and would be able to keep that number one spot the entire race for the win. This was no easy win though. John Gagner started right beside him with Ron Mogavero and last week’s feature winner Byron Dewitt behind. A lap 5 restart would shuffle John back and put Byron Dewitt’s 34 car in second, and Byron had no more luck that John did at getting past Don. On lap 9 another ca...ution would bunch them up and now Ron Mogavero would be in the number 2 spot. The race would go green for the remaining laps and treat the crowd to the best battles of the night. No beating, no banging, just hard racing with Ron able to get beside Don in the corner, but not past him. Don said that about half way through the race he dropped a cylinder and hoped that keeping his line would be enough. It was. Don was saying that Ron is one of his really good friends at the track, and that hey help each other out with parts. Between our two cars I think we have half of each other’s parts on each other’s carRon races me clean and I race him clean. One of the first people Don thanked was the Mogavero boy’s for their help. He also thanked his father for building a heck of an engine; his drew guys, Brian and Dan, VSP Branding for making the car look sharp. Also Will Torez, Skyline RV, First out Rescue, Team Newton and special thanks to Ron and Newts. That is the home for the car and they gave Don a lot of help on the car, along with Chucky Mogavero.

Well last night was the first race of the season. We got off to a slow start, car was running good but seemed to have a handling and brake issue. After the heat race the brake issue was fixed with some help from the guys at Newton Racing, we made some changes to the setup and decided to run it. Went back out for the feature and the car handled 1000 times better. After an incident on lap 4 we were moved to the back of the pack for the restart. After moving up on quickly down t...he front stretch and narrowly avoiding the wreck in the middle of 1&2 we wound up further up in the pack. After a hard fight up to second, something in the driveline let go and cause the car to lock up on lap 12. With only miner straightening of body panels and a new bumper we will have plenty of time to devote to solving the driveline issue to be ready for next week. Haven't had much time to get on here and update, as of right now the body of the car is almost finished, working on it more tomorrow and hopefully finishing that part up , maybe posting some pictures soon. Between the car and our regular jobs all of us have been pretty busy and getting kind of worn out, but it is time for the final push to get ready for the season. Plan on seeing an update each week during the season detailing how we did during the race and whatnot, going to do a 2012 Recap post pretty soon, so look for that within the next week.

Car is down to just a roller now, starting on the new body this week, going with a whole new color combo for 2013

Going to upload more pictures soon, going to have a dedicated album for each season. Car is apart at the current moment, getting moving on plans for next season, not going to release any intimate details as we want to keep a competitive edge, but will keep all fans updated with the progress of the car.
