Cheese and Quackers are two love birds who give kisses and cuddles every morning when released from their safe night-night place. These two are a classic TevaLand Sanctuary story. Hatched into a happy family, it all started with good intentions that went wrong. Ducklings are adorable and might look like a good pet... but adult ducks are very loud, opinionated, strong birds who need constant fresh water sources, and produce a lot of wet "rocket poopies" Not the perfect hou...se birds and not the easiest yardbirds, either. But, as you can see, they grow attached to humans and, once domesticated, can't survive without personal care. Fortunately for these guys, our legendary intern and rescue team coordinator Jillian Connelly was working at a farm where they were surrendered by the owners in hopes for a better life. Since they couldn't stay there permanently, she adopted them herself. This past summer, our beloved Jillian moved and left us missing her so, so much! But, of course, she "deposited" her babies where they naturally belong before leaving; TevaLand. Not before she enlisted her family to build the best coop for her babies to live in. We love you and miss you Jillian, good luck at your new place ...the babies are doing great! See more

Beloved Brandon meeting recently rescued Marilyn Monroe for the first time. As he learned first-hand, she eats LOTS of hay... and she's not even the biggest hay consumer we've rescued through the years. Thankfully, young Brandon is a true supporter who's truly making a difference. Lately he learned TevaLand is struggling with growing expenses due to a sharp rise in hay prices... plus no fundraising events because of the pandemic... So he took action! Brandon organized an o...nline sale of homemade cocoa bombs and raised enough money to provide 60 bales of hay for our 150+ rescued animals! His ingenious generosity is truly a lifeline for TevaLand! Unfortunately, it will only feed the farm for a week. That's why we need more kind hearted people like Brandon to make a difference. People like YOU! We're having our own online sale and you can help by purchasing a cozy hoodie or super cool shirt proudly showing your support for TevaLand. 100% of the sales go to sponsor hay for the farm IF BOUGHT IN THE NEXT (AND LAST) 5 DAYS OF FUNDRAISING! Please help us provide the best nutrition for all our rescued animals. Every item bought is a full donation and a practical reward! http://customink.com/fundra/tevaland-winter-fundraiser-2020 See more

A calm autumn morning at TevaLand... Ducks napping and grooming... Camelita, the big goat sister, "chewing gum" after breakfast.... Until the mischievous brother who always pushes his snout around with no respect to personal space shows up! The Sanctuary's rescued "Loverador" Bentley means well! BTW- If you don't know what Camelita is really doing, it might be time for the our educational program: tevaland.org/farm-friends

Who are you kissing tonight? We celebrated a New Year reunion on the farm today! Marilyn Monroe was thrilled to see a very special friend again. She clearly hasn't forgotten how our beloved intern Lauren's calming influence helped during her rescue! Lauren Kann was very happy to be on the receiving end of Marilyn's true love kisses while on break from Cornell University. TevaLand's kids send wishes for a happy, healthy, and much improved New Year to all! We are so incredibly grateful to all who help us make a difference. Virtual nose kisses from allllllll of us

TEVALAND 05.11.2020

It didn't take long until Marilyn Monroe got used to giving nose kisses It is a must-learn-skill at TevaLand! When you gain a rescued animal's trust, nothing is sweeter or more bonding than nose-to-nose nuzzles. This phase in the animal/human relationship is earned with much patience and will be remembered forever! ...Then you'll need lots of luck trying to stop them from pushing their noses everywhere else!

After the storm...and wind chill temperatures are breaking records. Even the toughest of them all, Toulouse goose Georgia, who used to live on frozen lakes, will not come out after spending the night in the cozy hay trailer! But mom and dad will always be out, even in the worst weather. When most people cuddle in, we have to be outside, providing the food, the running water, blankets, and a whole lot of care. This is our life commitment to our beloved rescued animals. We have... enough love to go on, but our resources are depleting this year with Covid restrictions. We will go out for them in the wind, rain, sleet, snow, hail, ice... but can you please make a donation to help us keep them warm? The TevaLand community wants to take this opportunity to salute Farmer Taly! Not many could tolerate the weather conditions she does, day in and day out. So great is her love and devotion for the Sanctuary's rescued souls, she's always the first one out in the morning and the last one in at night, one coldddddd day and evening after another We are forever grateful for her dedication! The gentle touch and big heart of beloved Brandi Portscher, our fundraising coordinator, is truly making a difference. As owners of the amazing Village Green Restaurant, Brandi and her husband Kevin have been struggling due to Covid. But these life angels still find a way to help TevaLand! And when Brandi decides to embark on a project, it's always a great success. Her efforts make it possible for TevaLand to continue operating. Like the winter wear fundraising sale that ex...ceeded its goal! The entire TevaLand family is very grateful to her and all of our supporters who purchased a clothing item with our logo. Every dollar of your purchase will be translated into hay, feed, and other life sustaining needs for our many beloved rescued animals. These days it is necessary to help the helpers. We should all stand behind struggling local business. More than 20 years of excellent reputation speaks for itself! Only one day left for our winter wear fundraiser and we still need to sell 16 items to reach our goal! Keep yourself AND TevaLand's rescued animals warm this winter by purchasing a cozy hoodie or long sleeve T-shirt today!

This precious girl is known as "Farmer Taylor" to TevaLand's family of rescued animals. Her parents are the owners of a great natural pesticide business, Ticked Off Organic. This incredible family has been supporting our mission for years. They introduced Taylor to TevaLand's rescued souls and the love was instantly mutual! Beloved Taylor has also became an excellent youth ambassador for TevaLand. She mentions us to her friends and talks about our rescued animals by name... at every playdate. She never misses an opportunity to share our story with other animal loving children! This season, she chose her favorite place for her gingerbread house theme. Hopefully Taylor's sweet ambassadorship for TevaLand will inspire you to become an ambassador too! For only 3 more days, you can show your support for rescued animals by purchasing a cozy hoodie with our logo. This is a great way to give AND get something practical in return: http://customink.com/fundra/tevaland-winter-fundraiser-2020 Happy Holidays to all from TevaLand See more

Our beloved friend Koba is not only a master farrier, but also a master of horsemanship. Some of our rescued equines were not amenable to any pedicure procedure without a sedative due to their abusive past and lack of trust in people... Until Koba! Although technology in 2020 allows us the luxury of snapping and uploading a digital photo of this ancient work, not much else has changed for a farrier in the last few thousand or so years. With no more than a hoof and traditional tools in hand, some things never change!

This is how Gabriel and Michelangelo react when asked if they think their winter coats from last year will still fit. It may be a laughing matter for them but, for us, WINTER EXPENSES are a very serious concern. During winter, sanctuary operational costs skyrocket by 50% due to increased hay consumption, extra feed, winter wear/gear, electricity for heating/water defrosting, weather proofing, and so much more. This year the burden is even greater. While many more rescued ...animals joined our family, the Covid-19 situation cancelled every fundraising event we depend upon. While we help farms that crashed under the pandemic and take animals from them, we ourselves struggle daily . We need your support now more than ever. Even the smallest donation makes a big difference. Our 150+ rescued animals will be forever grateful for your kindness and generosity! See more

Exhausted, bewildered, bloodshot eyes from no rest... but thankful for a rare moment the little devils are asleep! New mom Stardust is trying to catch a moment of shut eye. Or just a minute where there is no jumping on her, exploring and going out of the safe cage, siblings fighting, frantically practicing their legs, never standing still for a clean licking... it's endless. Stardust can relate to human super moms right now. Kids are the main reason we lose it, but the only reason we hold it together!

TEVALAND 03.06.2020

Lizzie is growing up fast! She's the happiest piggy princess at the sanctuary and is already bossing the biggest guys around. Thanks to the miracle small business that is DePiero’s Farm Stand & Greenhouses, she is enjoying the best of the land. As you can see, beets are her favorite... probably due to the glamorous red lipstick effect.

Exemplary project from an Eagle Scout! During these difficult financial days, especially while preparing for the winter, any help to provide safe and warm housing for our beloved rescued kids is a true blessing. TevaLand was fortunate to catch the attention of a very special young man and were delighted when he volunteered to dedicate his Eagle Scout project to our Sanctuary. We were only expecting a small structure but, from dedicated Michael and the super supportive Kowal...ski family, we should have expected much more! Michael created the most sophisticated, thoughtful enclosure; the best place possible for the chickens and bunnies it will be home to. He made every effort to build a structure that is completely safe, very practical, and a perfect winter shelter. He even enlisted generous family friends to create a safe, solid concrete base for it. Truly the highest standards! The whole Kowalski family worked for hours preparing the site and locating the structure in its forever home. It was already dark when done... but the light Michael brought to TevaLand will shine for many years. The Eagle Scout symbol, so beautifully hand carved into a wood plank by a very artistic mom, will be a reminder and example for all future Scout's projects at TevaLand! Well done Michael and thank you very much for making a difference; for choosing to do good and inspiring others. See more

Uhhhh... not really the place to be when around a 900 pound horse! Luckily Sophie's Spirit, who will chase away the other horses with a bite if need be, will hold her step for careless Ms. Banana. Who was probably distracted by her cellphone, as happens to many of us. Please remember to take your eyes up from the screens and be safe out there!

Ginger and her relatives are usually underestimated, but those who know Ginger and her kind will testify how full of loving personality these guys can be, opinionated and funny. Especially if they are boarding with our Guinea Pig specialist and office manager, Mary. Ginger is so smart and friendly she even takes part in our traveling and online educational programs. You might be surprised how much you don't know about these adorable friends! But, yes, the truth must be told, most of the time Ginger is just daydreaming about snacking on more of her favorite healthy foods.

Spring in November?! It hit 68! Beloved Gabriel immediately "jumped" on the opportunity and took a 20 minute "spring" siesta

TEVALAND 04.04.2020

The things Mary will do for animals! The whole Sanctuary feels the absence of our beloved office manager (and so much more ). Due to orthopedic surgery, she is recovering well at home. Meanwhile, at TevaLand, the rescued animals are learning to count... the days until she comes back! Mary is truly a natural; her connection to the rescued kids at the sanctuary is one of a kind. We all love you girl and we're sending you many hugs, licks, wet nose kisses, headbutting, back rubbing, tail wagging, and every other way the kids at the sanctuary show love!

What a trooper! Our beautiful Target Heart is a tough cookie! Tougher than some of the boys in the herd... though we will not mention any names. One afternoon, Target called out to Farmer D for help. He immediately recognized she wasn't just whining for food or bleating for attention; she had somehow fractured her leg! Unfortunately, although there were many present to witness the incident, none of the goats can tell us exactly what happened. Thank goodness there ...are medical professionals on the farm! A very effective cast was made and pain medication was administered. Target is already putting some weight on it after a week and there's no pain whatsoever. She insists on remaining a part of the herd, climbing rocks right along with the best of them! Even with an obvious limp, Cupcakes, Lokey, and Hot Potato know to respect the horns and give her plenty of space. Hot Potato, who's known to be a very curious and mischievous girl, is far more interested in mommy's camera anyway, checking if there is anything to bite on... See more

Happy happy joy joy! Marilyn Monroe and daughter Delayla are doing great! Don't get confused, ears back are not always a sign for stress. Delayla is truly smiling with joy! They are acclimating very well. Delayla is becoming a teenager, though... pushing mommy around and annoying her; especially when she's trying to nap. As many moms would probably tell Mama Marilyn, it's just a phase. Hang in there, lovely alpaca lady! This too shall pass...

On wet days, for dogs and cats alike, a dry bale of hay to sit upon is prized real estate. Baby Lizzie wishes there was space for her to cuddle, too! Bentley has a very unique way of "parking" his 120 pound doggy butt anywhere possible. Including your lap if you are lucky enough to sit anywhere near him!

TEVALAND 18.02.2020

Majestic Geo - in all his natural geometric perfection - showing off his autumn colors and magnificent physique. The traces of his wild mountain goat ancestors are evidenced by the impressive horns which never stop growing. The beautifully groomed beard only comes out later in mature life, signifying Geo as an Alpha male. Thankfully, some of his "equipment" was "removed" when he was a much younger goat. So, during these restful days of retirement, all he worries about is what to eat before his next siesta in his little earthly slice of heaven; TevaLand.

TEVALAND 12.02.2020

A gentle kiss from our (not always so gentle) giant Bentley to one of his life angels. He was so overwhelmed with joy, he couldn't manage to stand! Our beloved friends and Bentley's sponsors, Liz and Chelsey Able, bought him a new, much needed, Thunder Shirt. Chelsey helped with the dressing and got her own wet kiss in return.

Please join us in wishing Ollie Ballie a very happy rescue anniversary! Four years ago, Ollie's liberation to a free life where he is loved and safe began. And that is thanks to our beloved intern Jen and her family who made a very long trip to rescue him from a small cage in a tiny apartment. Ollie is truly one of the best, kindest, most friendly lovers of belly rubs ever! Ollie's life is all about nature, freedom, friends, gourmet food, and living the dream at our beautiful mountain top sanctuary.

TEVALAND 25.01.2020

The coming of fall, with golden leaves everywhere, is a time of celebration at the Sanctuary! Not too cold, not too buggy, tasty sweet decaying leaves everywhere. Our rescued kids love autumn! Luckily, we have Mary, office manager extraordinaire (and so much more). As a duck and chicken expert, Mary has rehabilitated many of TevaLand's birds. Between the endless things to do when she is on the farm, she always has the time and heart for the most important thing; loving the animals. Mary organized this incredible "Fall Kabob Party" and it was such a wonderful success we just had to share! Chickens and ducks all mingling and tasting the appetizers and drinks. Until Snow Angel, one of the Sanctuary's most mischievous goats, realized what was happening. Well, it was great while it lasted! Thanks for all you do, Mary! We love you!

TEVALAND 07.01.2020

Our beloved intern Chelsey Abel from Mahwah High School is TevaLand material; Properly dressed for farm work and ready with the headlamp for after dark feedings. She's comfortable with every animal at the Sanctuary and is truly making a difference! Her dedication is an inspiration for other teens aspiring to work with rescued animals. Chelsey enjoys helping our Lamancha goat Camelita snack on some fresh foliage. This particular breed of goat can grow to almost unimaginable sizes. With extra long and very flexible necks, they can stand more than 7 feet tall on two legs... for the right treat, of course!

TEVALAND 05.01.2020

Our little Lizzie Love is STILL growing and loves to give kisses. Especially to a special Life Angel, another giver with a big heart who is part of TevaLand's family. Natalie Lucia also brings a very special asset to the sanctuary; something esoteric and powerful. As a Reiki Master, she is our trusted healing animal communication specialist who helps us nurture and understand our beloved rescued kids on a deeper level. Thank you for all you do for us with your unusual skills, Natalie!

TEVALAND 25.12.2019

Baby Rose was rescued a month ago and she's already riding high around the farm on sweet Ollie Ballie's back. Like many rescued TevaLand brothers and sisters of all species, this animal odd couple spend their days together on the farm making magical memories.

For years we tried to bring Frank Levett, TevaLand's incredible accountant and life angel, to visit the rescued souls who owe him so much. Finally, on the day Marilyn Monroe and her daughter Delayla arrived, he did as well! Despite everything being new and stressful, Marilyn recognized Frank's kind soul and was one of the first rescued animals to approach. As the owner of F.S. LEVETT, Frank is always busy... and rightly so! His accounting services are the best you can fi...nd. Frank puts his whole heart and supreme wisdom into everything he does. He is much more than an accountant! Frank is a mentor and a life angel who always goes above and beyond for us, a humble nonprofit animal refuge. And all for no profit... only headaches! We know for a fact that Frank's great skills and experience are put to work for all his clients. It's so hard to find people who really care! If you're ever in need of an accountant, reach out to F.S. LEVETT. Thank you, Frank, for all you do for us and our rescued animals! See more

Join us in welcoming the newest additions to the TevaLand family and Education Center; Mama Marilyn (Monroe) and her daughter Delayla! So much to tell about this bonded pair... First and foremost, DON'T call them Llamas! As Alpacas, they get very offended because they consider themselves to be far more polite and kind. But if you insist on calling them Llamas, they may spit like one. Most importantly, now that they're at TevaLand, this mother/daughter duo will never be d...ivided! Separating these beauties would cause grief and depression with serious physical and emotional consequences, much like we humans experience after losing a loved one. Only a forever home sanctuary willing to accept both was permitted to rescue them. We are so grateful TevaLand was able to secretly pull off a complicated cross country operation to save these two. Thanks to generous life angels, we were able to get the ball rolling. But transportation costs, medical certificates, and the expense of preparing a place for them has already exhausted the financial help we received. Now we are facing a lifetime of special nutrition and medical needs, along with any additional potential unforeseen expenses. No amount of snow, rain, heat, or cold will stop us from providing for all of their needs, day or night. And, of course, TevaLand will lavish them with so much love! We only ask for kind donations from animal lovers like YOU to help fill in the gaps. Your support makes a difference and any amount helps! Virtual nose kisses from all of us at TevaLand See more
