Today we recognize, acknowledge, and honor #IndigenousPeoplesDay. #HonorNativeLand is a campaign to spread the practice of acknowledgment of traditional Native lands. Visit www.usdac.us/nativeland to download the Guide with step-by-step instructions for how to offer acknowledgement and tips for moving beyond acknowledgment and into action. Mask? Commitment? Shake Shack? Teachers doing incredible things? Big shout out to our alumni teachers and corps (including @kelseyoliviafowler, NY ‘20)! . Posted @withregram @kelseyoliviafowler The last two days were both really hard and really, really fun. I love teaching. This school year holds 178 more days until I’m not a first year teacher. 178 more at bats chances to learn, and grow, and teach, and form genuine connections with my incredible students. I’m going to get really, really good at this. I won’t stop until I’m there. I’m excited by that. But for now I’m going to get shake shack for dinner and be asleep by 7:30PM. Happy Tuesday!

In a recent interview, Tamika Palmer, Breonna Taylor’s mother, shared, She would always say to ‘Apply pressure, pressure makes pipes burst,’ meaning, if you want something, you have to go get it. As our region sits with everyone in anger, heartache, pain, frustration and more at the devastating lack of justice for Breonna Taylor, we also stand committed to working alongside our communities to not just envision change, but go get it. We will continue to say her name. To not just say, but show that Black Lives Matter. To work to disrupt systemic racism in-house and beyond. To stand alongside you in challenging the inequities that our students face. However it looks today, thank you to everyone showing up, and to everyone centering self-care. #BreonnaTaylor #BlackLivesMatter. Art @arielsinhaha

Current restrictions on in-person connections make engaging students even harder for schools. After interviewing school leaders (including at two of our 150+ school partners, Hamilton Grange Middle School and Uncommon), combing through instructional materials, and listening to dozens of teachers in small focus groups, Bellwether Education Partners captured best practices across eight categories to support distance learning successes moving forward.
