Carol's recovery continues to be challenging since she had just changed her health insurance less than a month before the accident to a policy that the rehabilitation groups consider self pay and she is being denied coverage. The hospital is helping Carol to see if she can acquire Medicaid since she is not able to go back to work. Carol's feet, primarily her left foot, are in so much pain that she can't stand on her feet yet and this condition needs to improve before she can rehab from the surgery. The surgeon doesn't feel that the pain she is experiencing in her feet is due to nerve damage, they will be testing for what other problems could be the cause of her pain. She did say that the feet may be severely bruised, but they want to rule out nerve damage since the medication for nerve damage they are giving Carol is causing some adverse results. Lastly Herb, Carol's dad, is still in need for someone to stay with him since he needs a little supervision during the day to free up Michael to get to the hospital more often to be with Carol. Office for the aging is looking into services and programs that may be of assistance.
