Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York Votes to Admit Women as Members The Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York, the oldest charitable institution in New York City, is pleased to announce that the membership of the Society has voted to amend its by-laws in order to permit women to apply for membership. The Society is pleased to invite all women and men who are interested and eligible to submit an application for membership. The Annual Meeting of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York will be held on Monday November 18, 2019 at The Princeton Club of New York City, which is located at 15 West 43 Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Cocktails will be served at 6:15pm, followed by dinner at 7pm. The reception, dinner and meeting venues are all located on the second floor of the Club. The November meeting, closed to guests, is dedicated to formal business. I...n addition to receiving various committee reports, we will vote on an amendment to the Bylaws of the Society, elect the Officers of the Society and elect new members into the Society. You should have by now received a copy of the report of the Nominating Committee, a list from the Admissions Committee of the proposed new members to the Society also the notice of motion to amend the by-laws along with the proposed amendment. Members are required to show membership cards to Stewards posted at the entrance to our meeting room. Membership dues can be paid at the meeting. Jacket and tie are required.

The next Stated Meeting of the Society of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick in the City of New York will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at The Princeton Club of New York City, which is located at 15 West 43 Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Cocktails will be served at 6:15 pm, followed by dinner at 7 pm both held on the second floor of the Club. As always, a jacket and tie are required. MacGuire, Journalist, Poet, and Author. Mr. MacGuire will be available after the dinner to autograph copies of Real Lace Revisited: Inside the Hidden World of America’s Irish Aristocracy. Please bring cash if you would like to purchase a copy of this highly acclaimed chronicle of the great Irish American families of the past century. As always, guests are welcome at the January meeting and the fee per guest is $50. This night is a great recruiting opportunity in the more relaxed climate of a quarterly dinner, so please bring along a guest. Members are required to show membership cards to the Stewards who will be posted at the entrance to our meeting room. If necessary, membership dues may be paid at the meeting.
