If you haven't already downloaded the UBER app... well, do it now. There is absolutely no excuse to be driving if you are drinking this holiday weekend. If you actually believe there won't be checkpoints, additional police presence... and witnesses.... then you are being naive. Learn from other's (or your own) mistakes.... you do NOT want a DWI arrest this holiday... or any day. Think ahead and be safe. Whatever it costs for that ride... is well worth the peace of mind.

Everyone knows this is one of the busiest bar nights of the year... including the police. Plan ahead with a taxi or a designated driver. No one ever thinks it will be them... but I get at least one "first offender" every holiday. If you want to spend Thanksgiving with family, instead of inmates, plan ahead. 6 Excuses That Won't Hold Water Tonight: "We live right around the corner from the bar/party/restaurant."(Then a cab ride shouldn't cost but a few bucks. Many many DWI's happen within a mile or 2 of home) "I'm only gonna have a couple."(It's New Year's Eve....who are you kidding?) "We'll take the back roads." (The Sheriffs and State Police love back roads during the holiday season. So does wildlife. Not a wise choice.)... "We're making so-and-so drive us home." (I think anyone who lets another drunk person drive them home should be responsible for at least 1/2 the cost of legal fees for the driver's resulting DWI. Not to mention....you'll end up paying for a cab ride home in the end anyway.) "We can always stay the night."(Pack the bag and commit to that plan NOW. Don't wait until you're debating whether or not you're "probably ok to drive") "My brother's a cop" (I have represented many many family members of cops.) YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPEND THE FIRST DAY OF 2016 IN A CELL. PLEASE PLAN AHEAD SO THAT YOU CAN ENJOY THE EVENING!
