-Dinos Cristianopoulos...there are multiple connections throughout the decades to this quote. All go back without a doubt to Greek poet Dinos Cristianopoulos. I first read this quote in a little indie bookstore a year ago and it hit me like a brick. It was beautiful. It was empowering. Liberating. Acknowledging hardship and struggle leading to growth and life. So much to say in just one sentence. Maybe it resonates with you. What mantras or quotes move you right now? I hope that however you are doing, whatever you are struggling with right now through this pandemic that you find strength. That you can move forward. Find beauty and peace in the midst of crisis. Fall apart and put yourself back together. Whatever you are going through you are not alone and you can and will overcome it.

Happy Earth Day my darlings! Despite the chaos around us there’s a lot to be grateful for, having this magnificent place to call home is one. Let’s take good care of it, please!

I was getting ready to do a little prenatal yoga before dinner and looked outside. The sun was setting and everything had this beautiful blue tint to it. The snow was falling so lightly and I couldn’t resist sharing it with you all. It was magnetic. I stepped outside in my tights and slippers without a coat to take a picture and realized the silence was so lovely and the wind almost untraceable except for the slightest breeze that carried the few snow flakes that danced aroun...d... it had to be recorded. It moved me. It gave me peace in what was an oddly unsettling day. Fun tidbit -the statue is of Kuan Yin, a Bodhisattva known as the Goddess of compassion. Her full name Kuan-shi Yin means observing the sounds of the world. I hope it gives you an ounce of the unexpected calm and joy it gave me. Let’s keep finding those little moments. Ladybug here again! Your favorite canine-spa-guru. As promised yesterday in my debut post here is what my fellow Shiba-comrades and I have boiled the social distancing solutions down to help flatten the curve... I believe it was our one and only Master of nail grooming herself, Meabh that was wise enough to share this with my parental figures. She and I don’t always see eye to eye, but I am pleased as punch that she finally acknowledges how brilliant I am... when in doubt Shiba out... peace, love and light my biped friends. Dearest and most venerated guests, For those of you that do not have the profound pleasure of knowing me, I am the sole heiress of The Windham Spa, LadyBug the Shiba Inu. As a result of my superior genetic makeup and unparalleled grooming, compliments of my esteemed Mother, Antonia, I look damn good for my age *cough cough* I know. I know... it’s hard to believe that this hot little bod and beautiful face is 15 years young. Chalk it up to my customized skincare regimen compli...ments of Eminence Organics. I understand you’ve all been suffering the last several weeks. Under normal social circumstances one might say I’m rather indifferent, I would say demure, but I find my indomitable heart slowly melting. Dare I say I believe I may have discovered this emotion called empathy. Dreadful. Meanwhile my Mother is reading the news, crying incessantly and going through an emotional rollercoaster of unfathomable proportions. (I keep trying to tell her to calm the @$*# down before she gets a wrinkle. Some things just aren’t forgivable in my book, a blemish is one.) In any event, I try to tell her these highs and lows are normal and she needs to take care of herself, stop reading the news non-stop and breathe. Go for a walk. Have a snack. Take a nap. Dogs are clearly the more enlightened species through this pandemic. On a more humble note, and might I add I believe humility is a virtue of mediocrity, I am astounded by the fortitude, integrity and resilience of the brave women and men who are taking care of the general public through this debacle. Nurses, doctors, sanitation workers, store clerks and all those working hard and in the constant hot zone, BRAVO... and thank you. Heavens knows what a mess we’d be if it weren’t for your selflessness. As a result of my Mother’s ineptitude at the moment, I leave you with these morsels regarding operations at The Spa- First and foremost the staff are all safe and self-isolating with their families and loved ones.
