Happy Yom Ha’atzmaut, Happy 72 Birthday to the beautiful and resilient State of Israel!

Tonight begins Yom Hazikaron, a Memorial Day devoted to remembering those who have lost their lives in defense of the State of Israel. We remember and honor Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror. In one week Israel observes two memorial days. Tonight, the Memorial Day for fallen IDF soldiers, to remind us the cost of having a Jewish Homeland. The second, Holocaust Memorial Day, to remind us the cost of not.

Tonight at sundown is Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) a day to commemorate 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazis during World War II. On this day we honor the memory of the millions of individuals who lost their lives during a time of unparalleled depravity and inhumanity. We once again commit ourselves to preserving the memories of those who were persecuted and perished during the Holocaust, so that they will never be forgotten. #weremember #neverforget
