The Camp at Findley

Last week's high winds took down a pine tree and large sections of multiple trees around the camp property. Thanks to Vidal Electric for coming over to fix the power lines! And thanks to all the individuals who volunteer their time with the Facilities Committee for quickly coming over and cutting up the fallen trees. The facilities committee has been planting new trees for the last few years in anticipation of events like this, and will continue to do so this year.

Join us Sunday, 9/6, at 2 pm for our last Faith and Fellowship event of the summer! For our last hurrah we will have Open Swim! All are welcome to join us. Parents must stay at the waterfront with their kids. In addition to the swimming area, kids can play in the sand, while parents relax on the shore. Bring a towel or a lawn chair. For planning purposes, please send a message to Pastor Dave to let us know you are coming. Hope to see you Sunday!

Join us today at 2 pm for Faith and Fellowship! This afternoon’s activity is Frisbee Golf. We’ll meet by the four square court behind Showers Hall. No skill needed. All are welcome! (Bring a frisbee if you have one, but they will be provided as well.)

Join us on Sunday afternoon, 8/23, at 2 PM at the top of the hill, by the ballfield and upper pavilion. Once again we will be enjoying the beauty of creation by going on a hike! Wear some bug spray and good sneakers. All are welcome!

With bittersweet sadness and joy we would like to inform the Camp at Findley family of the passing of one of our beloved members. Shirley Davidson passed away June 20th, peacefully at her home. Shirley is the wife of the late Richard Davidson. Beginning in the 1980’s and extending through 2020, Shirley and Dick were actively involved with Camp Findley, including Family Bible Camp, Tent Camp and Friends of Findley. In addition, Shirley dedicated 2 years of her life as a United Methodist pastor. The Camp Findley family is very thankful to have been blessed with the love, friendship, and service of both Dick and Shirley over the past four decades!
