Have owned this since 1986 and only put 1200 miles on it since purchase. Originally the car was Silver metallic but the owner liked Signal Red better so she had the car repainted. What a shame. You can see from the pics what the original color looked like by the factory hardtop hanging from the ceiling behind the car and the centers of the original hubcaps. She liked chrome too as seen by the four extra German made 16" Centra wheels. Quite a bargain for someone at $4500 espec...ially since 1972 was the only year Mercedes ever made these to conform to the US market meeting EPA & DOT standards. Mercedes only built them for two years and the 1973 models were not USA compliant. I have all the books,manuals and factory soft top unlocking tool. Also that's a brand new German material soft top and the transmission was rebulit at 21,000 miles with supporting documentation as seen in the pics. See more
