Week 2 of IdeaLab had Had Wade and Megan Forbes joining us as speakers, last night. They were two established professionals who pivoted into entrepreneurship to start their own business (Redtale Communications, LLC). Their message is that you can follow your passion at any age. During the workshop portion last night, Wade did a graphic recording of two students ideas and the process to go from IdeaLab to The Pitch!

Our third Summer Sandbox cohort launched this Monday. A key skill of any entrepreneur is to pivot and innovate when barriers arise. This group has already shown great aptitude for this with our shift to a virtual program and has tackled great sessions around self assessments, pitching their ideas, team creation, lean start up methodologies, and a joint session with RIT students on Ideas and Innovation! This morning they spent time with Mandy Friend Gigliotti from Keller Williams Realty. Can’t wait to see how these teams evolve over the next 8 weeks!

Happy Monday! Hello! My name is Annie Crotty and I am a sophomore at Hobart and William Smith. My major is Media and Society with a double minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Sociology. My favorite things to do in my free time include working out, writing and hanging out with my friends. I am currently living with my family in Saratoga Springs, New York. My biggest struggle with the current situation is being away from my friends and school. It also is difficult to not ...know when my life is going to go back to normal. The biggest positive in this situation is I am realizing how much I took for granted and its making me really enjoy the little things in life. I know that when this is all over I will have a new appreciation for all that I have. My favorite inspirational quote is "great things never come from comfort zones." #hwsleads #hwstogether See more
