MEMBER MONDAY We’re bringing back #CliffsMemberMonday! This week we’re featuring @mind_over_melissa Hello everyone, I’m Melissa! I am a special educator by day and a masters student by night. I’m also a competitive adaptive climber who is absolutely crazy about climbing. I first started climbing at Cliffs either 2 and a half or 3 years ago, and I love it! I sort of just walked in, met two other adaptive climbers, and have been climbing ever since. My favorite thing about go...ing to the Cliffs is that sense of community that I get just by walking in the door. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us climbers. GUNKS CLEAN UP AND TRAIL DAY: VOLUNTEER + CLIMB! FRI 9/18 9AM - 5PM Free for members!... Members! Looking to climb outdoors and also do your part for the climbing community? Check out our Gunks Clean Up and Trail Day! For our last trip, we worked on building a trail near the Visitor’s Center to help make the trails ADA compliant. Afterwards, members were able to enjoy socially distanced climbing! If you missed out on this one, you can sign up for our next trip on FRI 9/18! Our project for September is to build and install timber steps on the trail that goes from the campground to the Stairmaster. We’ll work from about 9AM-1PM then climb afterwards! WEEKDAYS | 2PM - 10PM WEEKENDS | 9AM - 10PM *STARTING FROM WED 9/9 WEEKDAYS | 9AM - 10PM 1. Advanced online booking required during weekends + weekdays after 5:30PM to limit capacity. 2. Masks are required while in the facility + climbing. 3. Temperature checks required for everyone entering the facility. 4. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer when entering and exiting the gym. 5. We encourage you to use liquid chalk + chalk balls when climbing. 6. Showers will not be available. 7. It’s your chance to join The Cliffs Outdoors in giving back to the Shawangunk Mountains, more commonly known as the Gunks! In conjunction with The Mohonk Preserve, we’ll be working on trail projects, specifically removing old cedar and installing new cedar on trails, followed by climbing.
