Both the Steelbound Brewery & Distillery and Ellicottville Distillery have stepped up in the continuing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic and modified their production lines to make essential hand sanitizer! We're making a difference right here in Ellicottville!

Ellicottville Times going on hiatus for a while We’re experiencing trying times, to say the least. For the most part, business and community activities are at a standstill as we focus all our energies on getting through this coronavirus pandemic. As a result, the decision was made that the April 17 weekly edition of the Ellicottville Times be the last edition until these trying times become more clear.... Todd and Shannon Palmatier, along with their three sons, Evan, Brayden and Camden, have been on an urgent mission to help people understand progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC), a rare genetic liver disease that affects both their oldest son, Evan, and youngest son, Camden.
"On behalf of the district, I would like to thank the entire ECS Community on their response to this crisis," said Superintendent Bob Miller. "[T]hey are all doing a great job meeting the challenges head-on."
Although it may be a little different, the Ellicottville Times will continue to publish weekly as a four-page paper. In addition to free individual laydowns in local stores and newsstands, the Times is also being inserted into the Cattaraugus County Pennysaver to reach more households. On March 25, Ellicottville Mayor John Burrell and the Village Board put out a statement on social media urging families seeking to get out of New York City not to come to Ellicottville due to fears they will bring COVID-19 with them.
The building may be closed, but the Ellicottville Memorial Library continues to offer some services to patrons, from eBooks and audiobooks to free Wifi in the parking lot!
School is out for Ellicottville students for at least the next few weeks, but many of them are wishing they could be back at the Home of the Eagles as soon as possible!
