What are sweet potato noodles you ask? They’re noodles made from the starch of sweet potatoes, a variety of cellophane/glass noodles most commonly associated with the Korean dish ‘japchae’ or chapchae (). Hot off the press, this article is in regards to our sibling The Expat. TL/DR: GrubHub created a criminally flawed system to charge restaurants for ‘phone orders’ that had a 94% margin of error charging $7 or more for calls that went straight to voicemail, calls where a customer called to simply ask a question or calls from customers who had just placed an order on Grubhub but wanted to know the status(which means they double charged for that order!). They then told us sorry, tough titties it’s your job to catch the errors and contest each charge.

A few weeks ago I shared a story about a NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Nurse who posted a crazy racist rant on our Instagram post( https://www.facebook.com/thehandpullednoodle/posts/1749503238538346). At the time New York was still in the beginning stages of the crisis and it was getting worse day by day so any call for action or response from the Hospital to address this, understandably went nowhere. However, I just got this DM from an old customer who is also a nurse confirming my initial fears that such ignorant racist views do in fact impact how treatment is administered. Once the dust settles this issue will definitely need to be exposed and addressed.
