Now, two years on, it’s clear that Pittsburgh marked an inflection point, after which journalists paid more attention to anti-Semitism and were more understanding of its place and presence in American society. But however welcome this corrective is, some journalists still do not grasp the complexity of the problem.

JCPA CEO David Bernstein writes that in today's fast moving and tumultuous environment, it is critical that funders support causes and advocacy work that cannot provide predicable outcomes. "Funders who want to resource the most important work should look beyond airtight plans and support groups that can act quickly with a strategic mindset in a crazy world."

On the lead up to the elections, the Jewish community relations network issued A Jewish Statement on Elections and Democratic Principles signed by 90 Jewish organizations. The signatories called upon government officials, candidates and faith and civic leaders to recommit to our nation’s core democratic principles allowing all votes to be counted, setting a standard of civil discourse, and encouraging peaceful engagement in the political process.
