On the lead up to the elections, the Jewish community relations network issued A Jewish Statement on Elections and Democratic Principles signed by 90 Jewish organizations. The signatories called upon government officials, candidates and faith and civic leaders to recommit to our nation’s core democratic principles allowing all votes to be counted, setting a standard of civil discourse, and encouraging peaceful engagement in the political process.
