Let go. Be Present. Find peace.
It's just up ahead. Do you see it in the distance? Do you feel it? It's Hope. As we enter the holiday season, we step into a Season of Hope. This past year is ... well, almost that ... the past! 2020 has challenged us and perhaps seemed unbearable at times. But there is hope. Pause. Close your eyes. Breathe. In ... and .... Out. Be present. Soak up the here and now. Celebrate where you are. How far you've come. Stay there with your eyes closed for however long you'd like. Now, open your eyes and gaze at the light shining on you. Feel it's warmth. That's Hope. It's just waiting for you to step forward and believe. Sometimes, we all need a little nudge to take that step forward. We've got great groups coming up to help you take the first step. Read more: https://bit.ly/2IuwwL2
Being a Teen is Hard Being a Teen During COVID-19 is Even Harder! Do you find your teen or pre-teen struggling? You are not alone! Adolescence is a confusing and uncertain time in and of itself, but pile the pressures of a pandemic on top of it and it’s only normal for teens to struggle. Beginning December 8th, Teen Connection offers kids ages 12-14 a safe (virtual) space to get the connection they crave. This past year teens have lost out on events, special milestones, leisurely time with friends, regular routines and structure. So much of what is important during this tender time of adolescence has disappeared. Annie Bingaman, LMSW, RYT will guide the small group over an eight-week period to help them to connect through a variety of activities. The group will meet weekly 6-7:00pm.
‘Tis the season ... for the hustle and bustle and family and friends and parties and feasts and ... , ' , 2020. This year is very different indeed. The way we're used to celebrating the holidays has been forced to change because of the pandemic. It doesn't mean there isn't any seasonal stress this year, it's just different; 2020 different. ' . ' , ... . Whether we like it or not, the pandemic, the universe, a force greater than us ... has been telling us to slow down. We are so used to going and going and going ... not allowing ourselves to be present. 2020 . Taking time for yourself and being present can be difficult amidst the chaos fo being cooped up at home with your family. Or you might be lonely being on your own most of the time, not able to connect in person with friends and family as much as you'd like to. Both situations can be challenging. Either you feel like you can't escape and be by yourself, or you are avoiding time alone by yourself. But either way, . When you slow down and become more mindful, you begin to see and experience things differently. You might even find some really great things you've been missing that have been right in front of your eyes the whole time. . Spend time with the things you've been avoiding once and for all that keep you from your joy. Embrace change. Create new holiday traditions. . You just might just find slowing down becomes one of your new traditions.
Wishing you and yours a Safe, Healthy & Happy Thanksgiving! We are grateful for you
