ATTENTION RENTERS! Thank you for renting with The Pro Ski and Ride this MLK Weekend. We are committed to getting you out on the hill as quickly and safely as possible. In order to help us serve you better, please be aware of the following guidance: Our rental shop opens at 8 am. If you have lessons in the morning, we suggest arriving to the store as early as possible.... Please send one member of your rental group into the store to check in. Please have the following readily available: The number of people in your party; if you rented online; and a contact phone number. We will be asking groups wait in their vehicles until it is their turn to be outfitted with equipment. We will be prioritizing advanced reservations over walk in rentals. If you are looking to rent this weekend we STRONGLY recommend reserving equipment ASAP. Reservations can be made via the "Book Now" button. We look forward to seeing you this weekend and Think Snow!

Product Spotlight: Volkl Kenja 88 Women's All Mountain Skis The Völkl Skis Kenja 88 has been one of our best selling women's all mountain skis and for a good reason! Check out this great review from The Ski Monster describing the 2021 Volkl Kenja 88. "THE BEST JUST GOT BETTER... Volkl broke out their all-new construction last year with the Mantra M5 and Secret replacing the old Mantra and Aura, respectively. In 2020 the Kendo and Kenja get the same treatment and the result is one of the best skis Volkl has ever made, and one of the best women’s skis ever built by anybody, period. Yea, these skis rip. By reducing the metal in the ski from two full sheets to a horseshoe-shaped frame around the edges you get a ski that’s lighter and significantly more nimble in bumps and trees without sacrificing any of the frontside performance and stability at speeds that the Kenja is known for. If you're looking to upgrade from your old race skis or have tried other sticks and thought they weren't enough ski; this is the ski for you. What’s the difference between the old Kenja (pre-2019) and the Kenja 88 (2019-20)? While the name change reflects the change in width (90mm to 88), that’s a pretty nominal change and the real difference is in the construction. With metal only where you need it, the new Kenjas are a lot more fun and nimble off-trail and don’t feel as heavy or planky as the older Kenjas. On-trail they’ll still rip like the old Kenjas did. If you’ve skied a previous model of the Kenjas and like them, you’ll love the Kenja 88. How does the Kenja 88 compare to the Blizzard Black Pearl 88? On paper these skis are very similar and are often compared, but the Black Pearls don’t have any metal and the Kenjas do. What that means is that the Kenja will grip better and the Black Pearl will float better; the Kenja will have a little bit more rebound and the Black Pearl will be a little more forgiving - more aimed at intermediates where the Kenja is really geared towards experts."

We are excited to announce that The Pro is becoming a DPS PHANTOM dealer! PHANTOM is a permanent, one-time application base treatment that provides increased glide across all conditions. Conventional wax provides glide, but wears off after a few runs/days and must be carefully matched to temperature for optimal performance. PHANTOM is a permanent base treatment that has consistently performed better than conventional wax across all temperatures in tests with the added benefit of not releasing fluorocarbons into the environment. Disappointing news out of Hunter Mountain as they have announced they will remain closed through at least tomorrow Wednesday, January 6th. The Pro will remain open tomorrow 8 am to 5:30 pm for your skiing and riding needs. We encourage our guests to explore lift ticket options at nearby mountains in the Catskills at Windham Mountain and Belleayre Mountain. For those wishing to modify their existing rental reservations, please email [email protected] We are hoping that Hunter Mountain can quickly resolve their staffing issues for the benefit of skiers and riders; the Hunter Mountain staff; and the mountaintop community as a whole.

Hoping everyone is healthy and safe. Thank you for your patience over the past 6 tumultuous months. Now that the days are getting shorter and the weather is getting colder, we are finalizing our plans for reopening this year. Things will sure look different in the shop and on the hill, but we are optimistic this 2020/2021 will be a great season! We are planning on hosting our annual Columbus Day Weekend Sale outside at the store in Hunter! Help us clear the gear to make wa...y for new merchandise while taking advantage of the lowest prices of the season in the process. We will be open on a limited basis with limited services after Columbus Day Weekend for seasonal rentals. We are strongly encouraging seasonal rentals this year for customers that rent often to reduce contacts. Of course, we are always happy to assist if you need to swap out equipment mid-season. We will begin regular hours, including boot fitting, in early November. We plan to offer the same great service we have in the past, but please take note of the new protocols which will be posted closer to November. If you rented from us last season and our still in possession of a seasonal lease, please let us know when you will be in Hunter to make arrangements to drop off equipment.
