Chelsea and Brightstar collect holiday gifts to be distributed to seniors by Aldersgate Church (East Brunswick, NJ)-- The Chelsea at East Brunswick, in collaboration with Brightstar Care of Northern Middlesex County, presented 160 gift bags containing $10 Target gift cards and other items to Aldersgate Methodist Church for distribution to their network of low-income seniors. "We had a tremendous response from local businesses who donated the gift cards," said Cynthia Rozenbe...rg, Executive Director of The Chelsea at East Brunswick. "A total of 173 gift cards were collected. We also placed hand sanitizer, toiletries and candy in the bags." Chelsea employees gathered the gift cards and other items and residents stocked the bags. On December 11th, the bags were delivered to Aldersgate Church which administers East Brunswick's food bank. The Church then distributed the bags to those registered with the food bank and others living in low-income housing. In addition to the 160 bags, 13 additional Target gift cards were also donated to the church. "I appreciate all the work and kindness that went into this project," said Reeta Aggarwal, Brightstar Care of Northern Middlesex County Owner/President. "It's all about making seniors' lives a little brighter at this time of year."

COVID-19 VACCINE COMING TO CHELSEA SENIOR LIVING Chelsea Senior Living residents and staff are among those who will be the first in the nation to receive the vaccine against COVID-19. We are in active collaboration with the State Department of Health and assigned stakeholders responsible for managing the logistics of vaccine administration. We await the final Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration, which appears imminent. Walgreen's and CVS wi...ll be receiving the bulk deliveries of the vaccine, then bringing them directly to our communities where it will be administered by trained individuals. We know that both drug store chains have experience delivering flu vaccines to large numbers of people. The Pfizer vaccine is given in two doses, 3-4 weeks apart. Once the second dose is delivered, the vaccine is said to be 95% effective in preventing illness from the virus. Those people who have already had COVID-19 are also urged to get the vaccine. Since the virus is relatively new and still being studied, the amount of immunity an individual might get from having the disease is unknown. We understand the hesitation among some people about getting this vaccine. Receiving the vaccine will be voluntary in our communities. However, we recommend everyone receive it because it is our best hope for preventing potentially life-threatening illness and finally eliminating the pandemic that has changed all of our lives.
