Nothing says summer like the Ferry ride between Hudson and Athens! It runs every hour Friday and Saturday between 5:00 and 10:30, leaving Hudson on the hour and Athens on the half hour. The trip only takes 20 minutes but transports you to another place and time.

Loving this tequila featured here in our Man Overboard. La Gritona is distilled by Melly Cardenas at a small distillery which is run by local women in the highlands of Jalisco. Made from mature agave cultivated at the height of its sugar production, it is baked within 24 hours of being cut, spends 24 hours in earthen ovens, and is rested for 24 hours before crushing. It is naturally fermented, twice distilled, and rested in reused American whiskey barrels for 8 months. Bottles are hand blown from recycled glass in Guadalajara

We never tire of our view of the ferry slip which is just outside our front door The ferry between Hudson and Athens dates back to 1778 when Conradt Flaack used a canoe shaped boat to transport foot passengers across the mighty Hudson and two canoes with a platform on top to transport horses and wagons. Conradt would use oars to power the ferry across, with the horses swimming behind.
