How to be present in the midst of worry: 1. Take an objective step back and recognize what you're doing. Are you pacing back and forth? Do you keep refreshing the news or twitter every 5 seconds? 2. Acknowledge the impact of those actions on you. If you are checking the news every 5 seconds, the benefit might be distraction from work and the feeling of being stressed out versus the cost, which is your mental health and a sense of relaxation and calmness. ... 3. Move. Jot down one action that you could take that would relign cost and benefits. Set a timer for how long you can be on a twitter. Take the app off your home screen so you don't habitually check it or do one thing that helps your sense of calmness ie. take a deep breath, stretch out, text a friend, etc. This month we're celebrating the theme of choice-choice in your career, your life, your candidate. Find your presence and go choose the future you want to be a part of!
