Taken from one of our followers. Thanks Olivia! Today is Wednesday - which means I’m wearing PURPLE to show my support for survivors of Domestic Violence. Between 21 and 60% of victims of intimate partner violence lose their jobs due to reasons stemming for their abuse. (ncadv.org)... 27% of domestic homicide victims are children. (miamidade.gov) Every 73 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. Every 9 minutes, that victim is a child.(RAINN.org) Meanwhile, only about 5 out of every 1,000 rapists will end up in prison. Domestic Violence is carried out in a number of ways and isn’t always towards just one person in the home. Join me in wearing purple this month and I’m standing in solidarity for those impacted by domestic violence every day.
