Please join Byrdcliffe's Artist-in-Residents 2018, for Relief, an exhibit of art made during the summer, a panel discussion and readings. I'll be reading poems and short fiction from The Virginia Project, some of it written during my stay at the residency.
Thanks to editor Sarah Kricheff for this wonderful interview about The Virginia Project, just posted at WNET ALL Arts: https://allarts.wliw.org//the-virginia-...project-giving-voi/ The exhibit is at the Humanities Gallery at Long Island University, Brooklyn, until 2/22. Catch it while you can!
I want to thank all the people who braved the frigid temperature to make it to the opening of The Virginia Project at Long Island University, Brooklyn. I was thrilled to meet Bella Meyer, the granddaughter of Marc Chagall, who chatted for a long time and enjoyed the exhibit. Meyer is the daughter of Ida, who's mentioned in several of the poems. That's Trish Classe Gianakis on the left, Meyer center, and me.
My Brooklyn and New York City friends: The Virginia Project opens this Thursday, 1/31 from 5-7 pm at the Humanities Gallery at Long Island University. I'd love to see you!

Well, The Virginia Project is finished--in High Falls. In late January, the exhibit travels to Long Island University in Brooklyn, where it will be on view unti...l late January, in the beautiful Humanities gallery. A big thanks to everyone who came out to see the show, and attended the opening and the reading. I appreciate all your kind words. If you missed the show in High Falls, and want a sneak peek of the exhibit before its debut in Brooklyn, check out the youtube video.
More great press for my sister’s b&b The Forsyth. Congrats, Tamara!
