SOOJI/SEMOLINA STUFFED APPAM Try this super healthy flavorful south Indian recipe! Preparation time- 30 minutes... Serving - 2 INGREDIENTS - 1cup semolina/sooji/rava - 4-5 boiled n peeled banana/potatoes - Refined oil. - cup curd. - 1 Tbsp. of mustard seeds - 8-10 curry leaves - Tbsp. of red chili powder - Tbsp. of chaat masala -1/4 tbsp. baking soda/ENO - Salt to taste - 2 chopped green chili. - Finely chopped coriander leaves - 1 chopped onion - 4-5 Big Spoon Boiled Green peas (other options boiled corn, finely chopped bell peppers) RECIPE: - Put Semolina in a Pot, add curd, salt to taste, mix nicely, add little of water and Whisk nicely, we need a thick batter, Make sure that there is no lump formed. - Close the lid and keep aside for 10-15 Minutes for fluffing. - In the meantime, prepare the filling - Mash banana/potato nicely in a pot -Add salt to taste, Red chili powder, Garam masala, Dry mango powder, Coriander leaves, Chopped green chili, chopped onion and Boiled green peas, mix nicely. - make a fine dough, Stuffing is ready. -Make little round balls of stuffing and keep ready - After 10-15 Minutes batter fluffs nicely. Add soda, little Water and Whisk again- do this step when you are ready to put the batter in pan. - Put an Appam Pan on gas and Grease all the Blocks with oil, once hot, put mustard Seed, curry leaves in each block. - Fill immediately, all the Blocks half with Batter - Put potato ball in each of block - Pour batter again till batter reaches rim and cover the stuffing. - Pour some refined oil over them. - Cook on Medium Flame covered - After 2-3 Minutes, when Appam starts fluffing and turns Golden Brown from one side flip them with the help of Knife / Wooden Pin, to enable them to roast from the other side too. - Once all the Appam Flipped, Pour some oil on them and let them roast. Sesame Toasts - No Fry Veg Sesame Toast recipe a quick starter snack, healthy and delicious! Ingredients:... Oil 1 tsp jeera 3-4 cloves of garlic A small piece of ginger Sesame seeds 1 small finely chopped plantain/raw-banana 2 medium sized potatoes boiled 1/2 tsp Haldi (Turmeric powder) 1 tsp Dhaniya powder (Coriander seeds) 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder Water and Coriander leaves 1 tbs maida, some salt and some red chilli powder (To make the slurry) Bread slices Method: Take 1 tsp oil, jeera in a pan, keep it at medium flame Add a pinch of hing powder (asafoetida) Add 3-4 cloves of garlic chopped Add a small piece of ginger grated Once garlic gets mildly cooked, add 1 small finely raw-banana/plantain chopped Add 2-3 finely chopped green chili Add salt per taste Add 1/2 tsp haldi, 1 tsp Dhaniya powder (Coriander seeds), 1 tsp garam masala Roast a little you will get nice fragrance Add 1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder Add few drops of water so masalas don’t get burnt Add chopped coriander leaves Now let mixture cool down. Now make a thin slurry of Maida, salt and red chili powder On bread slices, apply tomato ketchup or any chutney of your liking Spread the mix that we have made on it Now drizzle the maida slurry on the bread And then make a layer of sesame seeds, press with hands gently so that they get stuck on the surface of potato You can now chop the bread slices to make thin fingers or keep the entire toast and cook too now shallow fry on both sides with 2 tbs oil- first the sesame seeds side and then the other side Sesame toasts are ready!!!
