Finishing up this labor / childbirth prep exercise series with this standing variation of asymmetrical mid pelvis opening. . A stool, a staircase or toilet can be used for the elevated surface to lunge into . .... As always, practice before labor so your body feels comfortable going there during labor . . #childbirth #laborprep #childbirthpreparation #movementismedicine #moveduringlabor #laboranddelivery See more

Accornding To an Indian old wives tale, woman should clean the house daily for a healthy childbirth!! If you know anything about Indian ways of Cleaning ( "Jadhu-Pocha"), you can guess why it helps childbirth - SQUATS. . Squats are GOLDEN for so many things. Opening up the pelvis, improving blood supply and relaxing pelvic floor are just a few of them. As we open the pelvis throughout pregnancy, it helps the baby to settle into the pelvis.... Two types of squats will help open the Pelvic Inlet and Outlet respectively. Practice both so your body is familiar with the motions for when you need them in labor. I'm using a thick resistance cord but it can be done with supported surfaces like kitchen counter or back of a couch . . . #childbirthpreparation #childbirthmechanics #laborprep #laboranddelivery #childbirth #laborinthetimeofcorona

An exercise ball can be a great addition to the birth space because : 1. It helps the pelvic floor relax and gives the pelvic bones space to spread 2. It helps you use gravity to get the baby to descend / engage 3. Easily tolerated by most women who have knee back or leg pain during pregnancy ... . . Make sure your knees are not higher than your hips when you sit on the ball Play around with the position of your legs ( turned out, neutral and turned in) to get different parts of pelvis to open. One Hand on chest and one on belly. Focus on breathing into your baby’s space gently as you let your pelvic floor go Bouncing - I am not a fan of bouncing but try it ! rhythmic movements can help you relax.

#36thweekofpregnancy is here . Although I’ve included squats and pelvic girdle stability exercises in my routine pretty much all of my pregnancy, now I’m switching to labor prep mode with longer durations of pelvic inlet and outlet opening Inlet and outlet are two circumferences of your pelvis that need to open as the baby passes through birth canal ( look at the post childbirth in my highlights for more details) practice these exercises so that you feel comfortable ...getting into these positions during labor . make sure there is no pain or discomfort ! . practice controlled breathing and/ or meditation during the movement for added benefit . . . The power of a birth plan isn’t the actual plan, it’s the process of becoming educated about all your options. - Unknown #laborprep #childbirtheducation #mybodymychoice #childbirthpreparation

In recent years, Cesarean scars have been getting smaller in size but it's important to know that they are not getting any shallower in depth. Uterus is a deep organ and C Scar extends all the way to the uterus. It is more of a "Sheet" extending into the abdomen rather than a "line" on top of the abdomen. It has important implications for : 1. Strength and structure of abdominal muscles ... 2. Fascial connection and function of bladder 3. Important nerves that enter hip/pelvic region (SWIPE to see the second PIC) How to care for your C Scar? How to make sure it doesn't affect your bladder function and nerves? This care starts in post-partum period. And Unfortunately, women are NOT educated about these. I will cover this in my LIVE webinar tomorrow. SWIPE for Info. LINK in BIO @ Mamaroneck, New York
