The indirect method of making a mosaic involves pressing the tiles into gummed paper, then laying the sheet onto the grout. After the grout dries, the adhesive is pulled back to reveal the image.

Just because it's a tile, doesn't make it ceramic. In order to be a truly ceramic tile, the material must be made of clay or some other nonmetallic mineral, then heated to red hot, which means somewhere above 1800 F.

There are many choices when it comes to hardwood floors. Parquet wood floors are a North American term for geometric, rectangular blocks of wood that are either glued or nailed down, depending on the type of parquet construction.

Mosaics can also be geometric or abstract and do not have to contain any definite picture. Ancient Roman mosaics were initially just black tiles arranged geometrically.

Cleaning your ceramic tile is a snap. Use a mild soap and a soft pad or cloth to clean it, and never use abrasives or a harsh pad like steel wool.
