Thanks to everyone who came out for our workshop on Sunday! We had a great time showing you around our new maple production facility and teaching about timber frame and air tight construction. Comment below and let us know what you enjoyed learning about most!
Getting ready for today’s workshop! Come at 11am to preview the construction of our new maple syrup production facility and learn about the craft of true timber frame construction using mortise and tenon construction with wooden pegs. We will be holding a one hour work shop from 12noon to 1pm building a small bent where you can learn how the joinery of a timber frame building is constructed. From 1pm to 1:45pm we will be discussing air tight construction used in passive houses and touring different aspects of the building to show how this is achieved. We will also have some maple syrup available in limited quantities for purchase. This event will be held outdoors. Social distancing and masks are required if you wish to attend the work shops or tour the inside of the building.

Its Women's Equality Day! Celebrating 100 years since the 1920s 19th amendment. Here is a great article about about the history of a Emily Parmely Collins, a woman who organized the very first suffragists’ club in the world. After attending the women’s rights convention in Seneca Falls in 1848, Collins returned home, to the location the farm now resides on to create the Woman’s Equal Rights Union. Please read this article wrote by our amazing neighbor and town historian Beth Thomas. https://www.ochs.org/suffrage-bristol/
