Our age of the 24 hr News cycle comes at an obvious cost of a persistent memory, of the important disturbing stories of hate/intolerance that defy easy narratives. We read about them as disconnected outbursts as they inevitably recede into the fog of disbelief and the designed fictions of progress and development. One must thus resort to patiently trace/record the distribution and frequency of such stories to have any shot at really being able to observe the hate/intolerance machines at work. The excellent folks at Justice Adda and Cambridge South Asia Watch have done exactly this by using the TIMESCAPE platform to collaboratively map and record these stories from South Asia on the Intolerance Tracker. http://www.intolerancetracker.com/
