Tomelia Sail & Canvas 29.11.2020

We just completed a Tri-Radial mainsail for a customer who will be racing with it on the Hudson River this fall. The sail is built for a Benneteau First 285 with Dimension-Polyant Square 265, two full battens up high, two partial battens down low, loose foot, and one reef. #sailmaker #sailboatracing #hudsonriver @ Staatsburg, New York

We took a little time off this week to enjoy the New York State School Music Association performances at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, New York. Music Education enables each of us to achieve our dreams.

Sail covers for the Woody Guthrie We fabricated new sail covers for the Woody Guthrie, a replica of the popular gaff-rigged Hudson River sloop from days of yore. Using traditional fastening techniques and modern materials, we built these covers in a Sunbrella color to match the Woody’s tanbark sails and complement the sloop’s traditional rig. Pete Seeger had the Woody built to support the mission of the larger Hudson River sloop replica, the Clearwater, built ten years before the Woody to promote the clean-up of the Hudson River and to keep the river open and accessible to all people. From its launch date in 1978, the Woody has been in service to the public in the form of free rides and education five weekday evenings a week.
