Yesterday, 5 years ago, I was given a 2ndchance at life. On March 17th2016 I endured a 9 hour surgery after already having 2 surgeries prior and came out winning on St. Patrick’s Day which is truly my lucky day! I want to give a shout out to all the #cancersurvivors out there who are winning this fight and living their best lives. I discovered when faced with death you really realize how precious life is. So, to all the family, friends and associates who kept me in their... prayers and were there to lend a hand. I thank you. And a big shout out to the best medical team at @northwellhealth who took me apart and put me back together again. Dr. Karen Kostroff, Dr. Peter Korn and Dr. Ruby Sharma for being the dream team and my Primary Doctor Pamela Stimler who was the one who fast tracked me to good health by putting me in the hands of professionals who would take care of me every step of the way as if I were their own. They say in real estate you need a winning team-a good real estate broker, mortgage broker and attorney. Well the same is true in healthcare. To my entire real estate crew at Corcoran-Simeon, Renee and Dionysus who kept my business going in my absence and my dear friend David and Andre who came to all my doctor’s appointments and were my ride or die boys through it all. And to my dear sister Anita Kay who was there every step of the way and used her influence as a doctor and relationships at Northwell to make sure I was taken care of and advised me and reassured me and held me down through it all. And my brother BJ and his wife Elaina and all the friends who visited me and kept me in your prayers. For all the tears you cried and the eyes I dried letting you all know that there is nothing to fear but fear itself. There is always light in darkness but you have to see your way through the dark to get to the light at the end of the tunnel. And I am talking about living in the light and not walking into it. My positive attitude and will to live was my motivation. I am more afraid now of not living than of dying. I know God has plans for me and I am grateful to God for keeping me in in his grace and mercy. So I raise a glass to being 5 years old! See more
