Meet Rachel. Back in September in 2020 Rachel had a skydiving accident. As a result she fractured both of her calcanei into many pieces. Several other joints in her feet were involved as well. She underwent open reduction internal fixation on the left foot and right foot was placed in a cast . In other words she has hardware in her left foot resulting in more range of motion restriction in her left foot versus her right foot . Her constraints are more lateral or side to side which greatly affects her Balance Reactions both statically and dynamically. She began her physical therapy journey beginning of January. As a division one athlete, I understand how difficult sustaining injuries can be.
