Does anyone know any beekeepers who would come to our summer program and educate our campers on bee culture?
As the weather turns warmer and more people head to the many bodies of water in our area, it is important to know what a drowning person looks like (not what we see in the movies or on TV). This is a great article with a short video on what to look for and what lifeguards are trained to notice.
Like other businesses in the service industry, we are finding it hard to find qualified people to fill some of our seasonal positions. One of the positions, Park Attendant, is needed for weekends. We are willing to work with several candidates who are willing to work a few Saturdays or Sundays or split the shift so that one person works from 10:45 AM to 2:45 PM and the other person works from 2:45 to 6:45 PM. We prefer candidates to be 21 years of age or older. The season begins July 4th weekend and ends Labor Day weekend. Email [email protected] for more information.
Lifeguard wanted for our town pool. Part-time - some afternoons and weekends. Contact [email protected] for more information. Our town pool is anticipated to open July 4th weekend and close Labor Day weekend.
We are seeking responsible and trustworthy applicants for our Park Attendant positions. The job includes weekends. If you would like to work either on Saturday or Sunday selling pool passes, keeping the park areas clean and enforcing rules while enjoying the sunshine, please email [email protected] for more information.
The Annual Town of Bethel Tree Lighting in Veteran's Park will take place on Friday, December 4th at 7 PM with some modifications. There will be no hot chocolate or donuts served. Mrs. Claus is unable to travel from the North Pole (plus she needs to keep Santa safe) so she won't be able to join us. The Sunshine Bus will be there to provide music. Please wear a mask and social distance. Bethel Youth who attend will receive a treat bag to take home. Also, THERE WILL BE NO SANTA EXPRESS THIS YEAR.
Due to increasing positive cases in Sullivan County and recommendations to keep gatherings small, our Dance-it Off exercise program will be canceled for in-person classes until February. We are looking at offering the program virtually. Stay tuned for more details! Be well and stay safe.
Since the Villa Roma Ski Hill is not opening for skiing this season and the restrictions on capacity will make the way we operate on ski program difficult at Big Bear, the Town of Bethel will not be offering a ski program for our youth for the 2020-2021 season. We will look into other options such as a day trip after the holidays.
Dance It off is canceled for this evening, 11/19.
Due to the colder temps today and lack of participants, Fun with Miss Tracy is canceled for today, 11/18. Stay warm!
