Attention Residents: We have surveys at the Town Hall from the CNY Broadband Internet Study. They are trying to get a better understanding of what type and quality of internet service is available in different areas. Please stop into the office and fill out a survey for your home or business. It may help us get more choices of internet service out here.

PRELIMINARY SCOPING STATEMENT COMMENTS DUE OCTOBER 30, 2020 Garnet Energy Center, LLC is seeking authority from the New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment (the Siting Board) to construct a 200-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic electric generating facility with a 20 MW/4-hour duration energy storage system (the Project) in the Town of Conquest, Cayuga County, New York, pursuant to Article 10 of the New York State Public Service Law (PSL). Garne...t Energy Center, LLC hereby provides notice that it will file a Preliminary Scoping Statement (PSS) with the Siting Board on or about September 17, 2020. The PSS summarizes the proposed scope of studies that Garnet Energy Center, LLC will undertake, the results of which will form the basis of its Article 10 Application to the Siting Board. Garnet Energy Center, LLC also seeks input from the public, interested agencies, and local municipalities on the scope and methodology of proposed studies to be conducted. On or before October 30, 2020, any person, agency, or municipality may submit comments on the PSS by serving such comments on Garnet Energy Center, LLC, at the address provided below, and filing a copy with the Secretary to the Siting Board. Comments must reference Case 20-F-0043 and may be submitted to Hon. Michelle L. Town Office's will be closed Monday October 12th in observance of Columbus Day!

The Town Clerk's Office will be closed from 10:30 to 2:00 on Monday October 5th for a Town Clerk's Meeting.

The reassessment informational meeting scheduled for 9/22/20 has been cancelled.

Time is running out on the US Census! Cayuga County's census response rate is below the State and National response rates. We are currently at 60% self-response with some towns under 40%. Low census response will impact our County's political representation in Washington and Albany and will result in lost federal funding to our community at a time when needed more than ever. Your help is needed to get Cayuga County's response rate up by the deadline of 9/30/2020!

Have you responded to the 2020 Census yet? It's safe and easy - it takes less then 10 minutes. Funding for schools, health services, and roads for the next 10 years depend on it. The deadline of September 30th is fast approaching. Be counted today at www.2020census.gov or call 844-330-2020.

If you or your spouse are turning 65 before 12/31/2021 and currently have the Basic STAR exemption you may qualify for the Enhanced STAR exemption. Forms are available on the Town's website or at the town hall. You must apply before 3/31/2021.
