Powerhouse to visit Town of Dryden, promote Energy Wi$e Dryden community campaign The Town of Dryden, HeatSmart Tompkins, and Get Your GreenBack Tompkins are pleased to announce a one-day event featuring the PowerHouse tiny home, a mobile energy education and outreach tool. On Saturday, June 12th, Dryden residents and the general public will have the opportunity to explore the tiny home’s interactive exhibits on energy efficiency measures, heat pumps, and going solar. Visito...rs can also learn about thousands of dollars in grants and incentives available to help cover the cost of home energy improvements and clean heating and cooling technologies for eligible households (renters and homeowners). Energy educators from Get Your GreenBack Tompkins and HeatSmart Tompkins will be available to answer questions! Dryden residents are encouraged to enroll in the Energy Wi$e Dryden campaign (t.ly/yQeW) to get a free assessment for home energy improvements while helping to secure grant funding for the Town. When: Saturday, June 12th, 2021, 9:00am - 1:00pm Where: Dryden Agway parking lot, 59 W. Main Street, Dryden, NY 13053 Who: This event is free and open to Dryden residents and the general public. Registration is not required. COVID-19 Safety: One group (household) at a time will be allowed inside the tiny home to explore exhibits. Face coverings required. VIRTUAL COMMUNITY WORKSHOP #3 HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED - On January 27th at 6pm the Dryden 2045 Steering Committee hosted a Virtual Community Workshop to solicit feedback on draft goals and strategies to be included in the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. Unfortunately, that workshop was cut short due to problems with the virtual meeting platform. The Steering Committee has rescheduled the workshop to take place on Wednesday, February 10th at 6pm. The rescheduled workshop will have inc...reased capacity and security features in place to ensure a productive and inviting environment for community members to provide their thoughts, reactions, and ideas on how to refine the draft goals and strategies. The session will focus on two thematic areas addressed in the comprehensive plan: Workshop 3, February 10th: Economic Development and Energy Sustainability Please note that due to increased security standards, you must register in advance to attend this workshop. Community members may register and access materials for the session through the project website (www.dryden2045.org) by following the Virtual Workshop #3 Overview link. Due to the change in schedule, the materials will remain available and comments may be submitted on the website through February 24, 2021. Dryden Town Hall will be closed Tuesday, February 2, due to the inclement weather and the Governor's declaration of a state of emergency that includes Tompkins County.

The Town of Dryden is currently updating its 2005 comprehensive plan and wants to hear from you! Visit: www.Dryden2045.org/survey to take the survey and voice your thoughts and opinions. The Town will be receiving completed surveys until August 31, 2020. To have a paper copy mailed to you, contact the planning department at [email protected] or 607-844-8888 x216. Paper copies can also be picked up (and dropped off once completed) at the following locations: Dryden Town Hall, Dryden Village Hall, Freeville Village Hall, Varna Community Center, or Ellis Hollow Community Center.
