Good evening everyone, the temperatures over the next couple of days are forecasted to be dangerously cold. Time outside should be extremely limited, and if you must go out be sure that all skin is covered including as much of your face as possible. Please also practice safety inside your home, never use any gas kitchen appliance to heat your home, the carbon monoxide given off, could cost you your life. If you have any doubt about your heating system, contact your service t...echnician and have it checked right away. If your heating system should fail, call your service technician, and if you are able to, sit in a warm vehicle and wait for their arrival. If you have no other option call 911, and someone will be sent to assist you. Last but certainly not least, check on elderly relatives and make sure they are ok, they often don’t want to ask for help, and keep your pets inside, and make potty breaks as quick as possible. Stay safe and stay warm! AlanVanWormer Emergency Management Officer 518-567-4961

This is an Emergency Alert System message from the Village of Coxsackie at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, October 2nd. This is to notify residents in the Scheller Park area that repairs to the water main have been completed and your water service has been restored. However, you are currently under a Boil Water Alert until further notice. We ask that you please run your faucet in order to clear out discolored water, and boil your water before drinking. We will let you know when the Boil Water Alert has been lifted. Thank you.

Good morning! This message is for those in the Scheller Park water district! Your water has been temporarily shut off to allow for the reconnection of the 10" water main to the water system. I will update this post when the connection is complete. Thanks Alan

Good evening everyone! Tomorrow is going to be a very dangerous day, With the heat index potentially reaching over the 100 degree mark. It is advised that you spend as little time outside as possible. If you must be outside, Pace your self, and drink plenty of cold water to keep yourself hydrated. If you are outside and begin to feel ill, seek an air conditioned location to lower your body temperature, even if you need to sit in your car. If you do not have air conditioning a...vailable, cool your body under a cool shower. If after you try to cool your body, you still are not feeling well, do not hesitate to call 911, and seek medical attention. Please remember to check on elderly family, and neighbors and also limit outdoor exposure to infant children, and last but certainly not least, keep your pets out of the heat as much as possible, and make sure they have plenty of cold water to drink, a pet that doesn’t eat during extreme heat is usually not reason to be alarmed, but they must continue to drink. Water is very important, alcoholic beverages should be avoided. If you start to experience difficulties, and are not sure what you should do, please feel free to contact me at 518-567-4961, and I will be happy to help you, but PLEASE, if you are having a medical emergency call 911 immediately. There will be a heat advisory in effect tomorrow from 11am to 8pm. Stay safe, and be well! Alan VanWormer Emergency Management Officer Town of New Baltimore
