Town of Willing Police Department -Press Release- On April 17th, 2021, the Willing Police Department arrested Skyanne D. Carpenter of Wellsville for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd, Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 7th and Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument after an investigation where a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine was found. Carpenter was arraigned via the Allegany County on call Justice and released per the new NYS bail reform laws. The Willing Police Department was assisted by the Village of Wellsville Police Department, the New York State Police and the Allegany County District Attorney’s office. This investigation is still on going with more charges pending.

Town of Willing Police Department -Press Release- On April 2nd, 2021, the Willing Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop on State Route 248. The vehicle in question did not comply and fled into Pennsylvania, at which time the Willing Police Department terminated the pursuit for safety reasons. The operator of the vehicle was determined to be Nicholas E. Tubbs of Mills, Pennsylvania. ... On April 3rd, 2021, the Willing Police Department observed Nicholas E. Tubbs operating a different vehicle and a traffic stop was attempted. Nicholas E. Tubbs began to flee this stop as well, however; he was eventually stopped on the Palmer Road in the Town of Willing following a brief pursuit. Nicholas E. Tubbs was taken into custody and charged with the following for both incidents: fugitive of justice warrant from the State of Pennsylvania, two counts of failure to comply with a police officer, (2) speed in zones, (2) unlicensed operators, no front bumper, tinted windows, failed to keep right, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. Tubbs was arraigned via the Allegany County on-call Justice and held pending extradition from the Pennsylvania State Police. A further investigation led to the seizure of a large quantity of methamphetamine, numerous drug paraphernalia, digital scales and drug packaging materials and a significant quantity of cash. Nicholas E. Tubbs will be charged with following from this investigation: criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree (CPCS 2nd), criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree (CPCS 7th) and possession of a hypodermic instrument. The Willing Police Department was assisted by the Village of Wellsville Police Department, the New York State Police and the Allegany County District Attorneys Office. This investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.

Independence Police Blotter Friday January 22, 2021 8:03AM On January 22, 2021, the Town of Independence Police received a burglary in progress complaint from a High Street resident, reporting a home break in. Independence Police arrived on scene to find the subject was barricaded inside the residence. Police located and took into custody, Joy L. Layton, age 63 of Whitesville. Layton was charged with Burglary in the 1st Degree (B Felony), Criminal possession of a weapon i...n the 3rd (D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree (A Misdemeanor), Menacing in the 2nd Degree (A Misdemeanor) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor). During the investigation at the High Street address, it was reported that another residence on Hill Street in Whitesville was burglarized. This resulted with Joy L. Layton being charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree (C Felony) and Harassment in the 2nd Degree (Violation). It is alleged that Layton forced entry into a second residence and struck the resident with her hands. Layton was arraigned by Allegany County VAP in front of the Honorable Terrance M. Parker. Layton was committed to the Allegany County Jail on $10,000 cash / $20,000 insurance /$100,000 bond. Layton is due to appear Tuesday, January 26, 2021 by County VAP. See more

Independence Police Blotter January 10, 2021 Independence Police report a one car accident at 2:00 p.m. Sunday on County Road 22 near the Casey Road, Town of Independence. Bryce R. Pruden, 21, of Dansville, NY was identified as the driver. Pruden was issued traffic tickets for speed not reasonable or prudent, move from lane unsafely and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He is due to appear February 24, 2021 in Independence Town Court.

Hunt, 34, of Whitesville, NY, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle second degree (AUO 2nd), operating motor vehicle without interlock device, speed greater than 55 zone and unlicensed operator following a traffic stop on the Hallsport Road in Independence. Hunt is due to appear February 24, 2021 in Independence Town Court.

Hunt is due to appear February 10, 2021 in Independence Town Court.

Fleming is due to appear November 25, 2020 in the Town of Independence Court.
