Town of New Lisbon, NY

At last night’s meeting, the Town Board voted to close the town hall for all but essential town business, subject to reconsideration at the meeting on January 12. A decision on whether or not to hold the January meeting in person or via webconference will be made before the end of the month. The Town Board also voted to engage an engineering firm to develop a preliminary plan for a new highway garage. Having this plan will help the Town Board decide next steps. Meanwhile, the town is investigating possible funding sources. Highway Superintendent Don Smith and the Highway Committee are developing a COVID-19 contingency plan for snow removal in light of the increase in COVID-19 cases in our region. Draft meeting minutes will be on the town website, townofnewlisbon.com, in about two or so weeks.

The Town Court has gone all virtual. For information, call 965-8627. The reason for this change is the increasing number of COVID-19 infections and contacts with infected persons among judges and court clerks throughout our judicial district.
