I am very sorry to announce that the 2021 Thunder of Niagara Airshow has been cancelled. We have received tremendous support within the community and NY State g...ave us their approval to host the event. With that being said, Air Force Reserve Command decided today it was not in their best interest to host the event during the current environment. I am truly sorry for the performers, staff, volunteers and most of all the entire Western New York community. At this time we do not have a future date or know what this means for the show in the near future. Hopefully at some point we will rebound from this and bring it back with the same exciting lineup we’ve all become accustomed to. We as the staff have been working this for over a year and are truly saddened like you, so again, we are sorry for the bad news. Sincerely, Ben Canetti Airshow Director

To our Facebook Friends. During the next few weeks, we will be conducting pilot flight training. In the course of our flight training, we occasionally receive ...noise complaints through our network of friends. Some of the helicopter flight training must occur at night in order for our pilots to be certified for nighttime flying. This is an FAA requirement to ensure we are maintaining the utmost attention to safety. We deeply apologize to town residents near our Canandaigua, Marcellus, and Rome base locations and appreciate your ongoing support as we fulfill this requirement. We will continue to remain sensitive to our neighbors and will do our very best to ensure our nighttime flight training is not limited to one area. Please help us by sharing this information with your network of family and friends. Thank you!

A Message to Our Residents, Businesses and Neighbors, The Corona Virus/Covid-19 Pandemic has taken its toll on every form of government, business and individual... throughout our Country. I can think of no other event in modern history that has had such a devastating impact on our entire globe simultaneously. For some this may be illness or loss of a loved one, others may be feeling a financial setback and even more of us are experiencing a loss of normalcy. As most of you are aware, Governor Cuomo and his staff has established a four phase plan for re-opening New York State. At this point, the span between phases is two weeks; in other words, we must move through phase I, which began on Tuesday May19th, for a period of two weeks, with no major set-backs before we can advance to phase II. Unfortunately, large group gatherings, traditional summer events, concerts and festivals recreation and sporting events, in phase IV create a series of factors making it extremely difficult, if not impossible to keep folks safe while maintaining social distancing Throughout this epic event, the Town of Niagara has and will continue to, place the health and safety of our constituents and neighbors as our number one priority. Therefore it is with a heavy heart that we are cancelling the following events and activities for the summer of 2020: Trash to Treasure Music Mania Mondays Concert Series Pride in the Park (Including fireworks) Youth recreation programs, including youth baseball and softball Senior recreation programs including the annual senior picnic. We are currently formulating a plan to re-open the town hall using a phased in approach which will be announced shortly. In the meantime, if you have pressing business, you can contact the office in question and someone will respond to you within a few days. We anticipate a return of all programs, events and activities for 2021 and we thank you for your understanding. Please stay safe and stay positive, together we will get through this.
Here is the updated schedule for this Saturday's Operation Thanks From Above - Western New York.

In light of the world-wide outbreak of the Corona Virus, I want to assure everyone that the safety, security and well-being of our residents, businesses, visito...rs and employees is our number one priority. Since the issues and concerns regarding the Corona Virus seem to change very rapidly, we are taking a pro-active approach by beginning the process of implementing a plan before it hits Western New York. State and local authorities have primary jurisdiction for isolation and other public health orders within their respective jurisdictions. With that said we will actively monitor the situation and consult with local, County and State Officials and take appropriate action as needed. Should the COVID-19 situation evolve locally, our plan of action and decisions will be based on whether sustained community and neighboring transmissions are occurring. At this time, it is impossible to predict the scope, severity and duration of any outbreak locally, however rest assured that should an outbreak occur locally, we will be prepared. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact my office at 297-2150 ext. 135 or email me at [email protected]
