GRAND OPENING ON FEBRUARY 6 @ TOWNSHIP 5!! 2015 National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Inductee, Four-Time All American Midfielder at Syracuse University, and Two-Time Team USA Member Charlie Lockwood is now a full-time business owner in his hometown of Camillus, New York having recently acquired The Sports Outfit. The Sports Outfit has been the go-to sports outfitter for lax players and other athletes in Central New York for over thirty-five years. Whether you were a skilled colleg...e recruit or just starting to play, The Sports Outfit sold the gear and provided the advice you needed to hit the field ready to play. Lockwood purchased The Sports Outfit’s store on West Genesee Street, but is opening a brand-new storefront just down the road in Camillus at 150 Township Blvd, Suite 50 in the Township 5 Shopping Mall. He plans to focus exclusively on lacrosse and baseball gear and will continue to offer the best and newest equipment at competitive prices. The Sports Outfit’s T5 location will feature a brand-new turf shooting area where customers are encouraged to test equipment prior to purchasing. The Sports Outfit’s new T5 location opens to the public on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Customers shopping on Saturday and Sunday, February 7th (open 10:00 am -4:00 pm) will receive a 15% discount on all in-store purchases. On Saturday, Orange lax coaching legend Roy Simmons Jr. will be on site from 12-2 pm to sign autographs, answer questions, and chat. On Sunday from 11-2 pm, the Glazed & Confused donut truck is offering a free donut and hot cocoa with any purchase. Both days will feature giveaways from STX, including stickers, lanyards, and hats, and Sports Outfit t-shirts. "We’ve purchased lots of equipment for my kids at The Sports Outfit through the years, said Lockwood. Everyone who works here knows their products and has first-hand experience using the gear. I’m thrilled to be taking over and carrying on the legacy of helping athletes in Central New York stay on top of their game and nurturing their passion to be the best they can be. Our new T5 location has more room for merchandise and the space to test drive the equipment before you buy." The Sports Outfit carries lax product lines from STX, Nike, Cascade, Maverik, Stringking, East Coast Dyes, and Epoch and provides custom stringing services for both men and women. They also carry baseball merchandise from Rawlings, Wilson, Louisville, DeMarini, Easton, Marucci, Victus, Lizard Skins, and Franklin. They are a one-stop shop for Custom Team Uniforms and Apparel and will create custom webstores for teams, parents, and coaches.

Exciting news! A new chapter has begun for The Sports Outfit with new owner Charlie Lockwood. Lockwood is a 2015 Inductee into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, 4X All American at SU earning a National Championship in 1993, and a 2X Team USA member. Locally, Charlie was an All American at West Genesee earning a State Championship and being named MVP. He is a lifelong resident of CNY and currently resides with his family in Camillus. The Sports Outfit will continue to be... a full-service provider for men and women’s lacrosse, baseball and softball. The new location will feature a turf shooting area for customers to test new equipment. Coming soon to Township 5!!
