Ten Year Anniversary Open House: Here’s a happy memory from the first decade at the studio! Of all the countless portraits I’ve done over the years, I like this one because it’s of my big sis, and she’s pretty cool in my book. She might even make an appearance this Saturday and Sunday 12-5 for the Open House. There’s nothing like old friends!... Ten years ago, I started with a dream. I didn't know what I was doing or how to get there, but I knew I wanted to be an artist, to create, and to grow my business. I wanted to see my art everywhere and make people happy. First of all, I can't believe it has been 10 years since I first opened up the studio to the public for the first time. Of course there are times where I've questioned why I want to be an artist but at the end of the day, I long night of painting is what make...s me happiest. In celebration, I'll be having a 10th Anniversary Open House on June 19-20 from 12:00 - 5:00. If it's your first time visiting, you're in for a treat and for those of you who have been here before, there's a ton of new work! I've been quite busy over the last year! I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me over these wonderful ten years - I love being part of this community and seeing my work up around town at places like the Clinton Pottery, The Cremeria, Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, the Utica Zoo, Arts at the Palace. Here's a short film Tom Arnison and I made together over the winter about my new Life Is Sweet series and how it connects to the gallery and my family! Pretty weird seeing myself on camera but what a fun few days we spent working on it together! I had to pull over to just sit and take in the monolithic clouds on my way home from work today - just wow. Another beautiful day to paint murals - I think tomorrow is the day where it all comes together!!
