Dental veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length. Dental veneers can be made from porcelain or from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers. They also better mimic the light-reflecting properties of natural teeth. You will need to discuss ...the best choice of veneer material for you with your dentist. Veneers are routinely used to fix: Teeth that are discolored Teeth that are worn down Teeth that are chipped or broken Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped Teeth with gaps between them (to close the space between these teeth) Veneers generally last between 7 and 15 years. After this time, the veneers would need to be replaced. How Invisalign Works? Invisalign works to move your teeth into desired positions using clear aligners. The aligners are snug and gently put pressure in just the right places to slowly get the desired result. You wear each aligner almost all day and night - except while eating or drinking anything other than water and just long enough in weeks to move teeth a designated amount.... Once the teeth have moved, then you get a new aligner that's designed to put a bit more pressure on the right teeth to move them the next step in the right direction. Typically, each aligner is worn for two weeks before being replaced with the new aligner. The new aligner is the equivalent of going in and getting your braces tightened to put more pressure on your teeth in the right direction. You keep getting new aligners until your teeth have moved just where you want them. A great perk of Invisalign braces over traditional braces is that your teeth move a bit more slowly than with braces so the discomfort is a bit less when you pop in a new aligner than when you get your braces tightened. The first step in the Invisalign process is an initial consultation with the dentist. Please call us today to get your orthodontic consultation 8775739003 #dentistinnyc #dental #dentaltopics #dentaltips #dentalnyc #dentistnyc #dentaloffice #dentistry #orthodontics #orthodontist #dentalhygienist #orthodontist #orthotreatment #ortho #orthodontistnyc #invisalign #DentalWorkNY #dentalassistant #bronx #harlem #bronxdentist #harlemdentist

When should your child have a first orthodontic evaluation? The American Association of Orthodontists officially recommends that kids should see an orthodontist for the first time between the ages of seven and nine. Even if the child does not have all his or her permanent teeth, the teeth growth pattern can usually be predicted quite effectively by an orthodontist. This allows for a proactive response to emerging problems, and this is the reason that some younger children are... now getting orthodontic devices earlier in life. If a young child has serious orthodontic issues emerging, an orthodontist can usually address the problems immediately and then follow up with another round of treatment when the child has all the adult teeth. #DentalWorkNY #dentaltips #dentistnyc #nycdental #weareopen #weareopenforbusiness #orthodontics #orthodontist #orthodonticassistant #ortho #orthoconsult #orthodontictreatment #orthodonticconsultation #dentaloffice #harlemdentist #dentistnyc #Harlem #bronx #dentalappointment See more
