Very fun day at Astoria Park today! So nice seeing Trinity folks in person! We rang bells, flew kites, played frisbee, had bible study and were even visited by a hawk! What better way to spend one of the last good-weather days of the season than surrounded by (masked, socially distant) friends!

Trinity by night time

Today at Trinity - but at Astoria Park: Congregational Retreat Day Join your Trinity Family members and friends at Astoria Park for some bible study by Pastor Paul, games and a meal. Each family is asked to bring their own food for health safety.

Tomorrow at 11am our Trinity family will gather at Astoria Park near the Hellgate Bridge for some recreation, food (socially distanced w/ each person/family bringing their own), much needed fellowship (many have not seen each other in person since March 15!! - masks will be worn), and of course bible study. We'll talk Reformation stuff! The 311 staff person could find NO indication that the lot was closed, so hopefully you will be able to find parking there. Be aware that the... hill near Hellgate Bridge is on the OTHER SIDE of Astoria Park, in the Northeast corner. Just look for us. Pastor Paul is going to be wearing a black clerical shirt and hopefully his "God's Work Our Hands" shirt, which is yellow/orange. If there is NOT parking in the lot, you'll have to find street parking. The bridge and hillside on on the Northeast side of the pool. Streets near where we will be are 19th Street and 22nd Drive or 22nd Road. As this is a PRIME real estate area with views of the East River, street parking is at a premium, so be forewarned. The day will not be heavily structured, but will have a bit of a schedule. We will gather and play games, ring bells, greet each other, and eat at about 12 noon. MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AND DRINK for safety/health reasons. About 12:30 to 12:45 p.m. Deacon Rob and Pastor Paul will lead a brief bible study on the Reformation texts, especially the Romans 3 text, which will be our texts for the very next day, Reformation Sunday. Make sure to bring a chair/blanket on which to sit, wear a mask, and hand sanitizer. Pastor Paul plans on leaving about 2:30 or 3 as he has to get ready for the Sunday worship services, but feel free to stay as long as you like. For those of you who have NOT been to the park before, there are nice trails and sidewalks to walk. They have a bocce court, but not sure with the virus if that is allowed. Nice viewing deck just above the pool to see the park and the river. It's work taking the steps up to see the pool, the largest of all the pools in NYC. Looking forward to seeing you there!
